Thermopolis, Wyoming Two Bright White Lights

Date: June 21, 2007 Time: 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Thermopolis, WY. Number of witnesses: 3 Number of objects: 2 Shape of objects: White.

Full Description of event/sighting: Two bright white lights traveling one in front of the other flying south. There was no sound what so ever and judging by the brightness they must have been fairly low. They were traveling at a high rate of speed, not enough to break your neck watching them, but enough to were the should made a loud roar flying over head. Three night earlier I say what was a very similar white light. It was much later in the evening around 11:00pm. It was coming from the same direction (NW) rather than passing overhead it went vertical in at very rapid pace. The colors changed at it got smaller (white, yellow, orange, red) then disappeared. I would say it traveled around two inches of sky in about 3-4 second before disappearing. This night was very clear and free of clouds. I read the posting from Loveland, Colorado on the same night and am assuming they were the same lights as he describe exactly what we saw. There were no navigation or other lights other than the bright white ones on either sighting.

Hello, thanks for your serious dealing with my report. I was thinking the one that changed color had something to do with the vertical assent as it seemed to go right through a normal color progression (white-yellow-orange-orange red). It just did it really fast. Up until this this incident I had only one other visual sighting (as a marine in engineer in AK I experienced a strange radar anomaly) in Alaska where a very high altitude light streaked across the sky much faster than a sat. It also appeared to change coarse (zig zag) twice. It was followed right after by 2 slower moving lights on the same trajectory.
