Garden Grove, California Object Had A Greenish Hue To It

Time: 2:30 - 3:00 a.m.-ish.

Location of Sighting: CA 22 Garden Grove FWY heading west from Long Beach.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Star/Light.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving on the FWY when my passenger and myself saw what looked like star, because it was a bright light. This "star" moved forward and then disappeared down into the horizon/sky. We both thought at that moment, that was too big and too close to the horizon to be a shooting star, in hazy Westminster/Garden Grove area? Plus we both said at the same time that it had a greenish hue to it. I have seen plenty of shooting stars in my time and I have never seen them so close to the horizon or that big. Most times I've encountered shooting stars, they are distant if looking straight into the horizon ahead or one usually looks up into the skies. This light was much brighter, and much bigger then most stars I have seen. It was as big as a city lamppost light or a helicopter flying on the horizon. At I first thought it was a helicopter but then all of a sudden it starts to move forward and disappear downwards. My words cannot convey this incident without sounding like it is just a regular shooting star, but I feel in my gut (my passenger also agrees) that this was not just your typical shooting star in the Orange County skies.
