Bright Orange Glowing Balls Of Light Over Pittsfield Massachusetts

Date:  July 4, 2011
Time:  Between 9:45 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Just got home from watching our local fireworks and couldn't wait to Google what we saw tonight, and low and behold it sounds very similar to what you describe on your blog.

My boyfriend and I, and many other towns people, were on top of a hospital parking garage in Pittsfield, MA watching the local fireworks. There happened to be many firework displays going on around the City so that is what made us keep looking in different directions to view all of them.

All of a sudden, my boyfriend looked up and said "what the heck is that"? I turned to see what he was referring to and couldn't believe my eyes!

There was a bright orange glowing ball flying silently from the right to the left and slightly curving in it's orbit until finally disappearing in the distance.

It wasn't five minutes later that another one came from the same area and traveled the same path until it disappeared, and then a third one following the same path.
I would guess that these objects were about 3/4 of a mile up in the sky. The sightings happened between 9:45 and 10:00pm, occurring about 5-7 minutes apart.

Other onlookers were freaking out saying that they were UFO's and some were saying that they were "floating candles", but there was no way that these objects were dangling from a parachute and they certainly were not in a downward decent that a parachute would cause.

The size was also considerable especially to be seen from a distance. Curious to see if other people have reported any more sightings to you and do you think it is just a coincidence that this sighting also occurred on the 4th of July, 2011?

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
