Time: 9:55 p.m.
From Hurlock Maryland looking to the East over the Atlantic Ocean, at 9:55 PM 8/22/2012 EST three large bright globe shaped lights aligned vertically appeared in the sky instantaneously.
They glowed bright orange for several minutes and as they began to dim it appeared as if there was a bright orange vertical line connecting them. They continued to dim, the center globe totally disappearing before the upper globe and the lower globe disappearing slowly to form a dimly lit crescent to complete darkness.
Approximately 40 minutes later a much larger crescent shaped glow in the same general eastern sky area appeared in bright orange sky formation. It was much larger than the first globe shapes and dissipated from top to bottom with the bottom becoming blurry before totally disappearing from sight.
This is the first time I have seen this color and intensity in 50+ years of observing the sky.
