Saw the same thing tonight, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 p.m. over Massapequa. At least 15 orange orbs low in the sky traveling from southwest to northeast at a steady speed over about a 30 minute period. Usually one at a time.
Never saw anything like it before. I heard there were supposed to be meteor showers tonight, but not until after 12 midnight. these did not look like any meteor I ever saw before due to the steady rate of speed and the fact that that light did not dissipate as the orbs moved across the sky.
Any idea what these were?
