Long Green Streak Of Light Fly Over Barrington Rhode Island

Time:  Approx: 6:35 p.m.

My wife and I saw the same object from Barrington Rhode Island around 6:35 this evening: A long greenish colored streak of light similar to a meteorite in the southern sky, plummeting downwards at an angle of about 30 degrees to the vertical, lasting approximately a second before disappearing below the horizon.

We would be very interested if you could cast some light on this, (pun not intended, but I will leave in anyway!)

Object Looked Like A Plane On Fire Seen Over Cumberland Rhode Island

On Saturday evening, approx. 9:15 p.m., on 9/29/2012 in Cumberland, RI my companion and I saw an object, seemed low in the sky, coming towards us as we pulled into the driveway. 

This area has planes all the time, that fly into Green Airport and from North Central Airport. Although we'd never seen anything like this color, my first thought was perhaps it's a plane on fire. 

There was no sound of a plane motor, and I thought wow it's kind of coming right towards us, I hope it's not going to crash or something.

It sort of appeared to be gliding towards us, there was no shape, per say, just 3 connected orange glowing lights. 

We both figured, once it got closer and went over us, we'd be able to see what it was, and we expected to see something familiar so that we could say, "oh yeah that's what it is", but that didn't happen. 

This thing just stopped and silently hovered a bit in the distance for about a minute. We were even more confused at this point.

Then it backed away slowly and took off at a high speed. 

We were left confused and thinking what the heck was that strange thing? I've seen hundreds of planes in my 47 years living here, and not once have I ever seen anything like that. 

Planes, jets, helicopters, blimps, etc. nothing like that. Online, in an attempt to locate something similar and find the reasonable explanation for this orange lighted object, I did find something that looked identical to the one we witnessed, however, this was witnessed and filmed by someone on the east coast. 

Attached link, we saw the three orange lighted object here in Cumberland, RI.  Surely, there is an easy explanation, probably so obvious it will seem silly once we're told, but I can't for the love of Pete, figure it out. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Lights In The Night Sky Seen From Massachusetts/Northern Rhode Island

Hi Brian, I saw something unusual and told a friend who asked me if I had seen anything on the web about it. I typed in some basic information and you came up right away. I saw an entry from Berkeley, Mass.

I am on the Mass/northern RI line and Berkeley is about 45 minutes from me so I had to share my experience, although somewhat different. What caught my eye also was that I also saw 9 lights in groups of 3 groups of 3.

It was last night, August 18, 2012 around 12:15 a.m. I looked out my back window, which faces north, and noticed a very bright, straight, light in the sky. At first it looked like a vertical line, but as I looked more closely, it was more like 3 balls connected by a string, something like an ornament, hanging vertically in the sky. 

It was to my northeast in the direction of Boston. No sound. No movement. I watched for a while, but there was no movement. I saw another similar grouping, dimmer and well to the west of the first one. It too could have been bright, but I was seeing it through a cloud that wouldn't budge so I could get a better look. 

I also saw a third grouping, this one to the southeast of the first one and lower in the sky, which was the dimmest of the three groups, but still the same alignment. This one would have been closer to Cape Cod and Berkeley is closer to the Cape than I am.

I don't know what to make of this and have never seen anything like this shape in the sky before.

Orange Colored Light/Object seen Flying Over Narragansett Rhode Island

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Orange colored orb moving across sky above me at a fast clip. Appeared amazingly close for a celestial object, but too fast to be a plane, no flashing lights.

 

It was quite amazing to see. Silent and no sound. Headed from southwest to northeast.

Air Traffic Controller Watches 10 To 20 Red Lights In The Sky Over Providence Rhode Island (Video Footage)

I got a video, but the quality is not great. At about 9:30 p.m. on 12/24/11 I noticed several bright red lights in the sky.

 

They seemed to strobe and move very slowly. I would guess that they appeared at about 3000' and would disappear completely after about 1-2 full minutes at approximately 10-12000'.

 

These altitudes are pretty precise, I am an air traffic controller and can determine altitudes fairly accurately. They all seemed to originate and disappear at the same point in the sky as the previous and they moved in a arched pattern, yet they weren't evenly spaced.

When I saw them, I ran into the house and told my wife to come look. She agrees that this was not normal.

I quickly went onto liveatc.net and pulled up the 9-9:30 hour for Boston Approach to see if any pilots reported anything.

 

Providence was not available for some reason. I found/heard nothing, but I didn't search long.

Bright Light At Dry Bridge Rd North Kingstown Rhode Island

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was laying in bed one night watching TV, when out of the corner of my eye and out the window was a very bright light. And it seemed to move away in seconds back up into the sky. I lay there watching it, not really sure of what I was seeing.

It moved in a triangle pattern as if it was going from star to star. Now where I live there are turf farms all around me, and it's like a airplane highway. So I assure you I know what airplane lights look like at night and I've seen enough of them in the 13 years that I've lived here. This was no airplane or satellite.

Five UFOs Move Fast Vertically Over Cumberland Rhode Island

Full Description of Event/Sighting: At first I thought it was 3 stars of Orion's belt, but they were huge amber fireball shape staying still. Then 2 more joined horizontally to the three. With the five sitting there, 2 moved close together and went vertically up so quick and disappeared and the other three right afterwards. I video taped, but the video is not top quality.

I went out onto the highway to view the clear sky and I could not spot them again. The full time of 2 lingering 3 minutes then total time of observing was 10 minutes.

Warwick, Rhode Island My First Actual UFO Sighting

Hi Brian – how’ve you been brother? Well, I hope. We’ve spoken we each other in the past about other peoples’ sightings etc. but yesterday – November 20, 2008, I had my first sighting. It was approximately 5:00 PM yesterday and I was in my van, driving back down I-195, coming from Seekonk, Mass. Heading towards I-95, Warwick, R.I. Heavy traffic, quite obviously, because of the time of day. As I turned onto I-95, I was heading South – I noticed a very bright light that looked too bright and too close to be a star or a planet. But because we never really pay attention to stars or planets unless someone else happens to bring them to our attention, I really couldn’t say with any proof, that I was actually seeing a “real live UFO.” But I continued to watch it as I got closer to home, and it continued to stay right there. I got home at 5:30 right on the button, and it was still there.

So I went into the house to grab the binoculars. It was now quite dark, but I stood there watching this thing, and noticed another object, quite a bit smaller and located higher up to the left. If we were to use a clock for reference – the bright object would be at 4:00 and the smaller dimmer object would be located at 10:00. I called my wife, who was at work, on my cell phone to tell her about it. Her workplace is about 5 miles away. She went outside and saw the exact sight I have described. 1 bright, fairly large object at 4:00 and 1 dim smaller object at 10:00. she said “it’s too cold out here, I’ll see you in about 1 ½ hours. I told her I’d keep an eye on it and get back to her. About that time, my neighbor, across the street got home from work and saw me in the road and walked over to find out what I was looking at. I handed him the binoculars and he said – “man – what is that?” I said “it looks like a UFO to me, but I don’t know. This was now about 5:45 PM. We stood together for a short while longer and then, because it was cold – 28 degrees – said see you later – “I’ll keep an eye on it and let you know.

I took out our trash, as we have trash pick-up on Friday mornings and it was still there and now it was 6:15 PM. I finished my trash routine and went back inside to watch David Gregory on MSNBC – 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE. When commercial break came around 6:30 PM, I jumped up and ran out side to see my UFO – Damn – gone! The other object at 10:00 was still there, so I figured that’s a star, but I saw a UFO.

I’m so happy with myself.

Providence, Rhode Island A Dark Round UFO

Description: While looking at a plane that appeared to be flying at maximum altitude, my wife and I saw a dark round object flying in the opposite direction of the airplane at a much higher altitude at a high rate of speed. It then stopped directly above then must have went straight up and moved beyond the atmosphere.

TV/Radio: no media was contacted. We did not want any attention to us regarding this manner.

Middletown, Rhode Island Witness Describes UFO As A Pyramid

Shape of objects: Pyramid.

Full Description of event/sighting: At the time of the sighting I was working overtime 2nd. shift. I started driving home about 1:00a.m. on a 4 lane 35mph posted highway. In the late 1970's this road would be empty at that time. I was alone on the highway when I saw a pyramid shaped object (I say pyramid because there was only three vertical lights, one on top and 2 on the bottom). The object was flying in a vertical orientation, not on a horizontal plane. It came over the trees on my left. When I saw it, I stopped my car because it was such a strange thing to see. The object flew over very slowly and silently in front and above my car and stopped. I'll guess maybe at 300 to 500 feet in the air. The object only stopped for a few seconds (as if checking me out) and then continued to move to my right over the trees on the other side of the highway.

I decided to follow it, the nearest road to my right was a very narrow, farmers dirt road. I got about half way down while watching the object, then I got scared because I wouldn't be able to get out of there in a hurry if I had to. So I turned the car around by backing up and going forward a number of times to get my car facing the right direction. Why I didn't just back the car out I don't know. The lights were different colors, the colors of which I don't now remember. I can't determine the size. It wasn't tiny, nor was it huge. If I had to guess, I would say from the bottom to the top of the pyramid, maybe 50 feet tall. It could of been 12 feet tall for all I know, but not over 50. Also, no structure was seen in between the 3 lights. I did tell a coworker who was a private pilot the next day of my sighting and described the 3 colors of the lights and he replied airplanes don't have those colors. One last thing, the 3 lights were solidly lit. There was no strobing or flashing or spinning.

Charlestown/South Kingstown Town Line, Rhode Island Huge Cigar UFO

Full Description of event/sighting: My friend and his dad were working building a chimney and fireplace. They were at the new house my friend was having built. I'm an electrician buddy of his and was wiring the house. I was not there that day. About 9:00 PM, my friend and his dad went out onto the deck to answer the "call of nature" and have a beer. They were standing there sipping their beer, when suddenly the entire sky above them filled with this huge cigar shaped craft, with lights and windows all around it. My friend said it just sat there quietly, making no noise what-so-ever. My friend said he shined his flashlight up at it and immediately it shot down a return beam of light on the deck where they stood.

He said to his dad - "wohhh - what the heck was that dad?" He said it sat there for a few more minutes and then - blip - gone! - I said gone! The next night when I got there he said, "well, of all nights for you not to show up, boy did you miss it last night and told me the story. Where the incident took place was very near where there used to be a Nuclear facility located back in the woods in Charlestown, RI called "United Nuclear" which has since been torn down, but that makes sense to me. I know there have been quite a few sightings in that area over the years. I actually called my friend last year to confirm with him, what I remembered all those years ago, and indeed it did happen, just as I've described.
