2 Large Flashes Of Light Seen In The Hills Over Sherman Oaks California

Dear Brian, I just witnessed two big flashes over the valley (I live in the hills of Sherman Oaks).

They were about 4 seconds apart and made our house lights flicker.

I thought a transformer blew somewhere but, I can't find anything on the internet.

In my research I found your website, my husband saw a couple of flashes some months ago. I'll keep looking to see if anyone else saw this and knows what it was.

Huge White Flashes Light Up The Sky Seen From Outside Of Salem Oregon (Lightning)

Time:  6:43 p.m.

Tonight, 2/8/2015, 6:43 p.m. local time there have been the huge white flashes over the area.

This was going on for around an hour, covering miles.

I was going to check the local news next. This would be about 5- 10 miles W, NE of Salem Oregon.

2 Bright Flashes Of Blue Lights Up The Sky Over Los Angeles California

On 1/4/2015 around 1:25 a.m. I saw two blue flashes in the sky in Los Angeles.

I thought it was lightning, but it was blue and the surrounding sky lite up blue.

Two Blue Flashes Of Light In The Sky Over Fort Wayne Indiana

I saw two bright blue flashes in the sky on 12/16/14 at 4:35 a.m. in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I kept checking to see if there was an explosion or power outage in the direction of the flashes. Nothing !

Bright Lights Flashing In The Sky Over Fremont California

Date:  December 3, 2014
Time:  Approx: 8:20 p.m.

Brian Vike, I observed bright lights in the sky in Fremont, CA at approximately 8:20 tonight.

I went out for a smoke and saw the lights. Unlike lightning these flashes were slower and appeared to be moving in the sky as if coming from a source on the ground.

I’m reporting this, because I think this might cause problems with aircraft. It’s lighting up the clouds so I’m sure it’s reaching passing planes.

I live in the area of I-880 and Fremont/Alvarado Blvd. The light seems to be coming from a mile or two further south and over the I-880 corridor.

Several Quick Flashes Of Light Seen Over Salem Oregon

Time:  Approx: 11:00 p.m.

I saw it too. I was in Salem, Oregon with a friend we both were looking north towards Portland. It seemed to be near the ground.

It lasted 15-30 seconds with several quick flashes mostly white, but one or two of them were colored.

I thought I saw red he says green. I have tried to do research on it and can't find anything. We saw it around 11:00 p.m. If anyone has information please share.

Bright Blue/Green Flashes Of Light Lit The Sky Up From Palos Verdes To Venice California

So I was driving north on the 405 last night around 9:20 p.m. Suddenly a big flash of blue and maybe green light lit up the sky from Palos Verdes to Venice. It was very strange and weird.

So I called my girl and then another big flash happened 1 minute later. I was passing Normandie Ave., and there is a lot of things going on electronic wise north of that in Carson, so maybe that explains it, but it was cool.

3 Bright Blue Flashes Lit Up The Entire Sky Over Seen Over Clarion Pennsylvania

Last night I was driving in Limestone and about 2:00 a.m. I saw three bright blue flashes over Clarion that lit up the whole sky.

It wasn't lightning.

I thought maybe something exploded, but it was very blue. Don't know what it was, but it freaked me out.

Probably some electrical phenomenon, but I saw this and thought I'd message.

Meteor - Two Bright Blue Flashes Lit Up A Clear Sky Over San Fernando Valley California

My wife and I were walking in Burbank Hills last night February 14, 2013. At approximately 7:18 we witnessed two bright flashes that covered the entire night sky encompassing the San Fernando Valley as far as the eye could see.

They were about 4 seconds apart. The sky was cloudless and the crescent moon and stars were sharp. We spoke to a few others who also witnessed the same event. No noise followed the flashes.

Two Bright Flashes Of Light Seen In The Sky From Jim Thorpe Carbon County Pennsylvania

Hello, last night at almost midnight my husband and I were in bed facing our front window. I had just blinked opened my eyes and saw a quick flash of light. He said what was that?

He saw what looked like 2 bright camera flashes consecutively one after the other. This was high in the sky.

We are in Jim Thorpe, but I believe our front windows face toward Mt. Pocono.

It was very weird, I kept looking to see if I saw it again. Glad someone else saw it, I thought we were going crazy. Wish we knew what it was.

Loud Booming Sounds And Bright Flashes In A Clear Sky Experienced 17 Miles East Of Grand Marais Minnesota

Date:  Mid July of 2006
Time:  Approx: 2:00 a.m.

My "light" experience occurred the middle of July of 2006.  My family was staying at my in-laws cabin (which is 17 miles east of Grand Marais, Minnesota) as we did every summer.

My husband, at that time, and I were both teachers in Texas and we stayed at the cabin every summer or camped on the site even before it was built. It is in a very remote area and heavily wooded.

One night, I woke up in a start. I actually thought to myself, "Ok, why am I awake?" I listened for kids and critters, but heard nothing. The bed was up against a west facing window and the other window was on the adjacent wall facing south. 

I was just laying there looking at the ceiling and “boom”! There was a flash of light in the window, like a flash from a 1930's camera right in your face.

I thought, "what the heck was that?" It happened 3 more times, but each time it was moving more and more behind the house.

It came from way up high because when it happened behind the house, I could see it was lighting up the tops of very tall trees. It wasn't a helicopter because the light didn't trail.

It just popped! It wasn't lightning because it made no sound and was making specific movements around the cabin. 

It wasn't car headlights. I've stayed there for 10 years and had never had this happen.

Plus the main road is at least 40 wooded yards in front of the house and behind the house there are no roads at all because it's a heavily wooded state park. 

I woke up my husband and told him to watch the windows. We sat there for a few minutes and then, “boom”! Right in the window above the bed He yelled, "what the heck was that?" We waited a few more minutes and it didn't happen again. 

When we got some courage, we went upstairs to the main floor. It was almost 2:00 a.m. We went out on the deck and it was a beautiful night, not a cloud in the sky.

I can't express enough how bright the light was, blinding.

Don't have a clue what it could have been. Very weird.

Bright Flashes In The Sky Over Fremont California

Date:  December 26, 2012
Time:  Approx: 9:30 p.m.

Hi, I also saw the bright flashes in Fremont. It was last night (Wednesday) around 9:30 p.m. I was driving 880 Hwy going south, when I noticed these bright flashes from the sky. 

The flashes seem to be coming from up in the sky in the Mission Peak area. Ten minutes later the flashes seem to be getting further up in the sky behind the hills in the Fremont area. I was on Hwy 880 by New Park Mall when I first noticed the flashes.

These were not thundering flashes, the lights were brighter and bigger than thunder.

Also were too bright to be coming from an airplane.

Witness Saw 7 Flashes Of Blue/Green In The Sky Over St. Louis Missouri

Hey early December 20, 2012 around 1:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. there were flashes (like a camera flash). Over and over again filling my room with light for a split second through the window.

No thunder and it was only one single light for a millisecond every couple minutes. I saw it about 7 times.

Bright Blue Flashes In The Sky Over Tulsa Oklahoma

Time:  Before 6:00 a.m.

Saw two unnatural blue flashes high in the sky over Tulsa, Ok.

This morning before 6:00 a.m. I work downtown and saw the first flash while driving in. It was weird, but now I thought maybe it was from a sign or ect., but deep down I know it was high in the sky and a very large and deep color.

Nothing I'd ever seen, from lightning or transformers. I work with Utilities and know what a transformer or power line pop looks like. This wasn't the same.

Then while walking from my parking spot inside is when I saw the same blue flash appearing to north west of downtown. Today is 12/20/12. Weird stuff.

2 Large Green Flashes And All Goes Dark Orange County California

2 big greenish kind of flashes and then the whole street got dark on Katella Ave.

Since Disneyland is right there I thought it was just firework, but the flashes were to the right beginning the buildings so I asked another driver what happened why did the lights go.

She said she thought it was a electrical shortage or that she was seeing things.

Blue/Green Flashes Of Light In The Sky Over Portland Oregon

Date:  December 3, 2012 and December 4, 2012
Time:  Approx: 11:15 p.m. and 5:5 p.m.

I found your information online while looking for an explanation of what I've been seeing. I'm a resident of Portland, OR and have seen 2 strange sightings here.

The first was on my way to work around 11:15 p.m. The whole sky lit up a blue/green color, but after asking around, no one else seemed to have witnessed it so I just shrugged it off.

The second was tonight at around 5:45 p.m. I was at an intersection and while waiting to take a ramp exit from the intersection all the lights went off (intersection lights) and seconds after I saw the blue/green light light up the whole sky!

This time lots of others saw this because it was rush hour and I was luckily not alone in my car either. I tried to look in the sky to see where it was coming from but couldn't see anything.

After the sky went dark again the intersection lights turned back on. I can't explain this but I'm very disturbed by it.

Blue Purple And White Flashes In The Sky Over Bluefield West Virginia

Date:  July 25, 2012
Time:  Around 2:00 a.m. through 4:00 a.m.

I was getting a late night in and lying down in bed when sudden blue flashes of light started shining in through my window and lighting up the entire room.

I went out the back door to get a better look, but the source of the light seemed to be coming from behind some clouds. I put on my shoes and went out back.

Standing outside I was able to get better glimpses of the flashing. Blue, purple and white flashes were "hitting" all around the sky. There was no thunder, and hardly a cloud in the sky. No rain.

Kept on for close to 2 hours this way. Towards the end, the intensity and brightness subsided, and only a few dull, white strobes were hitting the sky.

Keeping my eyes open for further activity.
