Bright Red/Orange Ball Of Light Seen Over Louisville Kentucky

Date:  December 31, 2012
Time:  8:00 p.m.

At 8:00 p.m. EDT in Louisville Kentucky (12/31/2012) for 90 seconds, I saw a bright red/orange light travel slowly from southwest to northeast.

The cloud cover was low last night (elevation-5000 to 6000 feet) object looked to be less than half mile from my viewpoint.

Seemed to be hovering just above the bottom of the clouds as the light was very bright, it also had a slight milky or clouded appearance. After 90 seconds of movement, the light quickly became very small and yet more intense and then was not visible.

Orange Fiery Object With A Bright Long Tail Seen Over Louisville Kentucky

Time:  Around Midnight.

I live in Louisville Kentucky. I am online right now trying to figure out what I just saw in the sky. It's a really clear night and I was looking into the eastern sky around midnight EST.

All the sudden I saw a large orange fiery looking light and it literally passed over my head and into the western sky.

It had a very long bright tail and was visible for about 8 seconds. I've seen shooting stars. I watch the Persiad meteor shower every August, but I have never seen anything like this.

I got so excited I immediately got on NASA's website to look for something that may tell me what it was, but found nothing.

I searched pictures of comets and none seemed to really look like it and they say comets tails are not so visible. So I searched bright orange with tail in the sky and found this post. It was incredible and I'm dying to know what it was!

8 Red Lights Shot Up Into The Sky Over Louisville Kentucky (Picture)

Time:  10:25 p.m.

Hi, I'm from Elizabethtown Kentucky, my mother who lives in Louisville saw these same lights.

She sent me a picture and called me about it.

She told me as her and her husband were sitting outside, they saw 8 red lights in the sky.

They came down pretty low, but then shot straight up to where they were no longer visible.

Yes it is very strange indeed. I really wish I could've encountered it.

I posted the picture on Facebook and luckily someone posted a link to the northern Oklahoma encounter.

I'm not sure what it is, government, UFO, whatever, but it's interesting.

Louisville, Kentucky Circular Orb Like Object Vanishes

Time: 2:30-2:55 a.m.

Location of Sighting: 38 degrees due east.
Number of witnesses: 9
Number of objects: 4
Shape of objects: Circular orb like with red and yellow pulsating lights.

Full Description of event/sighting: Barely any movement, passed it off as a star at a point. Then it vanished at 2:50 a.m. into nothing. It was just disturbing and eerie. It sure wasn't a star or a plane. They don't just vanish like that.
