6 To 10 Orange Lights In The Night Sky Over Sarasota Florida

Time:  Approx: 7:20 p.m.

Hi there, tonight around 7:20 p.m. I jumped in my car to go somewhere and I spotted about 6 to 10 orange lights in the sky. I was at I-75 and Clark road in Sarasota, Florida.

They were coming south and heading westward. They began to disappear behind some clouds. They kind of looked like the lanterns that people release and let go as they looked like pulsating flames.

As I drove in my car I began to see more. A neighbor of mine also saw them as I jumped out of my car to try to take a picture, which failed.

I don't know this neighbor, he stopped and saw them too as he saw me out of my car looking up at the sky and he said, “what are those” UFO, and I replied with I don't know.

Did anyone else see these? I never have seen anything like it as they seemed to be traveling closely together and sometimes lining up.

Hmmmmmm. What do you think?

Large Slow Silent Moving Orange Lights Over Country Oaks Sarasota Florida

Date:  February 1, 2013
Time:  8:45 p.m.

At 8:45 tonight as I was walking my dogs I saw a large orange light rise up behind some trees to the west of Country Oaks (Sarasota, Florida, just north of University Parkway and about six miles east of the airport).

It was very large, very slow, and very silent. It hovered, then moved higher and to the southeast, then hung in the sky for about a minute and a half, then dwindled, then disappeared.

It seemed to change in size and shape. I stood and watched it, feeling sort of dumbfounded and bewildered. Then I went on walking my dogs around the block.

About ten minutes later, as I turned the last corner toward home, I saw two more big orange lights doing pretty much the same thing, hovering and then rising, and staying very close together, much closer together than planes travel.

It's cold tonight and I was the only one outdoors. It's also incredibly clear. There was a plane in the northeastern sky, much farther away than these lights, and I could hear it.

But these things were silent.

Again I stood and watched until they disappeared, and wished there was somebody outside to show it to because what the hell do you do with information like that if you don't have a camera and nobody else sees it?

I took the dogs indoors, told my mom about it, then decided to come back out and look once more. This was about eight minutes after the second sighting.

There was a fourth one in the same area. I ran back to the house and yelled in the door - "There's another one!" and Mom came out.

Two neighbors were out as well, and I pointed it out to them, and they agreed with me that it wasn't a plane or a helicopter or anything else that we could think of.

It rose up in the sky, hung for a bit, moved to the southeast, then disappeared like the other three.

Orange Lights/Objects Spotted In The Sky Over Sarasota Florida

Time:  Approx; 9:00 p.m.

Tonight, in Sarasota about 9:00 p.m. my husband spotted multiples of what look like that orange spot in your photo.

There were about six, spread out in an uneven pattern. Three more came over a minute or two later. They were coming from north and heading southwest. 

He ran in and called me and I did see two of the last three as they headed out south. 

My husband thinks they were moving about the speed of a helicopter going fast.

White Teardrop Shaped Object Stationary In The Sky Seen Driving From Ft. Myers To Sarasota Florida

Time:  Approx: 5:45 p.m.

Dear Brian, I found you on line trying to see if anyone reported the light I saw tonight over the Gulf of Mexico around dusk.

Late this afternoon, Monday, January 14, 2013 around 5:45 p.m. EST, I was driving north on I-75 towards Sarasota, Florida from Ft. Myers. The Gulf was to my left by about 10 miles.

Off to my left, a strange white light was just hanging in the sky like a a huge tear drop, fat at the bottom and narrow at top. I took pictures of it, but the sky was still too light for it to show up on my digital camera.

It didn't move, imagine a meteorite falling from the sky, but staying suspended.

But what is very strange to my sighting is that on my way back to Ft. Myers my friend texted me to report that she and friends saw a spiral light show in the sky in Ft. Myers coming out of church around 9:00 p.m. Ft. Myers is 1 1/2 hours south of Sarasota.

My friend called the police to report it, but there were no other reports at that point.

Are you hearing anything from this area? What is going on?

The below follow-up was done by a fellow who is helping me out. It is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me, the atmosphere was dry and around 80 degrees. The sky was perfectly clear except the sun was beginning to set, so of course it was hues of pink and amber and the bright, white light object in the horizon appeared so strange.

It was off in the distance, to the left of me,  to the far right of the sun where there sky was still light, but becoming gray from sunset.

It looked like an extended tear drop or a falling star that just remained suspended fat at the bottom and very skinny as it extended upward.

I was driving north bound about 75 miles per hour and within 10 minutes I was past it and could no longer view it, but as I said I did try to take pictures of it.

I expected to see cars driving south bound pulled off the the road taking pictures but I didn't see any.

I would think people on the Gulf of Mexico beach watching the sunset to have reported this thing in the sky. Maybe the Coast Guard received "sightings?"

Orange/Red Lights Seen In The Sky Over Two Areas – Sarasota And McIntosh Florida

Date:  December 31, 2012 and January 10, 2013
Time:  Evenings.

Brian, my son, and his friends were in the Sarasota area near Sarasota Golf and Country Club (east of 75 off of Bee Ridge Rd) the evening of 12/31/12 when they too spotted orange/red lights in the sky (3 of them) as you described. 

They called their friend’s Dad outside too to see them. The Dad had an “app” on his phone that he can snap a photo of the star or planet and tell what is being seen in the sky. 

When he aimed at the lights the “app” could tell him nothing of what was being sighted. They also did not hear any noise like an aircraft or helicopter noise either.

My boss, and we work at (name removed), was describing the orange lights she saw in the sky on Thursday evening of this week, 1/10/13. 

She saw about 6 of them, 2 at first then others came to join. 

She lives in the McIntosh area just off of Fruitville Rd. She had her husband pulled over because they were so peculiar. She said there was no noise and after a few minutes they disappeared.

She is a “no-nonsense” type of person and I know that what she saw was out of the ordinary and makes me think there is something out there in our area that is unidentifiable.

Large Orange/Red Objects Floated In The Sky Seen From Sarasota Florida

Hello, I live in Sarasota near Bahia Vista and Tuttle and last night 1/1/2013 at about 7:15/7:30 p.m. I was on my patio and noticed a large orange/red light in the sky. It caught my attention because it looked very big.

I am guessing it was somewhere over the Lakewood Ranch area or so. It was stationary in the sky as it changed to yellow and grew very small until it vanished. As I kept watching and I noticed another coming up from low on the right hand side.

It too was large and orange/red and very slow movement almost like floating. No sound, no flashing lights and the movement was very unlike normal aircraft.

It went to the same spot in the sky where the first one vanished. It too changed color and began to shrink until it was gone.  have lived in Sarasota my whole life (33 years) and have never seen anything like this.

I have a few friends that have recently seen similar things in the night sky over Sarasota, so I thought I'd do a little research and found your site. Anyway that’s my story.

Thee Yellow Glowing Lights Over Sarasota Florida

Time:  Approx: 7:30 p.m.

My father-in-law and I were walking the dogs at around 7:30 p.m. on December 31st, 2012. When we looked up in the sky and saw three yellow lights glowing and traveling in a triangular formation.

As they traveled northwest they seemed to glide in perfect order. We could not here any engine noise. As they passed overhead the glowing disappeared slowly until there were no lights at all.

They were moving too fast to be weather balloons. Does anyone know what they could have been?

5 Glowing Lights Seen In The Sky Over Sarasota Florida (Picture)

Time:  Approx: 8:45 p.m.

My husband and I were outside tonight and saw 5 flying objects racing through the sky.

They were very bright and I got video and photos. One of them was moving very fast and then began to loose color as we watched it come toward us it was a huge dark mass.

We could not believe what we were seeing it was literally spinning and looked like a huge rock or something. Did anyone else see or report this? I do have photos so please
let me know.

Additional Information: 

Morning, the photos were taken in Sarasota Florida at approximately 8:45 p.m. I do have video as well.

The objects came up over the left and moved so fast we where in shock.

The most interesting thing was the one that went dark and we could see it flying by as if it was going to hit the earth.

I have never seen or reported something like this and wondered if anyone else had seen it. Regards.

Yellow/Orange Object Seen Over Sarasota Florida

Time:  Approx: 8:20 p.m.

Hi there. I went to Riverview High School with my kids last night for the planetarium event and also for the Sidewalk Astronomy event. As soon as we got outside to the telescopes, I noticed movement in the sky while looking up towards Jupiter.

I got the kids to look up and we all watched this yellowish-orange orb pan across the entire sky, bopping around a bit from one side of the sky to the other and then it disappeared. It was very far off in the distance and I originally assumed it was a meteor, but it was unlike anything I've ever seen before.

The time was approximately 8:20 p.m.? Just curious if anyone else saw anything along the same time frame. Thanks!

Orange Glowing Fiery Object Lifts Up Into The Sky Over Sarasota Florida

Time:  Approx: 7:30 p.m.

Brian, I live in Sarasota, Florida and tonight a friend and I were taking a walk on Siesta beach with her dog, as we were leaving my friend turned around and said, "looks like someone has started a fire on the beach".

I looked around to see what looked like a "pot of fire", an orange glowing fiery object that was very close to the edge of the water.

We were fairly close to it, then it lifted off and went straight up and to the left until it completely disappeared. The time was about 7:30 p.m.

I came home to Google it and found your blog. I've never seen any pictures or heard of this type of UFO until I saw your blog about the orange glowing lights. What is interesting is that we saw it lift off, usually people see objects coming down.

I would love to hear about your other findings--we did not have our cell phones with us to take pictures Thanks for the blog.
