7 Or 8 Orange Lights In The Sky Over Tawas Michigan

Date: August 6, 2011
Time: Evening.

Brian, Hi Brian, how are you? My name is (name removed) and I am from Fenton, Mi. I have a cabin in the Tawas area so I come up here often. Last night (8/6/2011) I went in to town to "Mr. Jack'ss" to watch the Tiger game. As soon as the game was over I went to my truck to head back to the cabin.

Before I got back to my truck, a couple asked me to look in the sky and asked what I thought it may be. There were 7 or 8 orange lights in the sky. They looked a little larger than stars, probably because they were closer.

They weren't moving at all, maybe a slight flicker. I watched them for a minute or so and even tried to take a photo with my phone, but they did not show up on the screen, I'm not sure why. Suddenly, one by one, they faded slowly, until they were gone.

The girl called 911. Before I left, I called also just to get it on record, and the man told me they had two other similar calls from the Oscoda area. That made sense since the objects were in the northern sky.

It was very exciting! I'm curious if you heard about it or have witnessed any other objects in the sky.

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Large Red Object With Orange Light Over East Tawas Michigan

Date: October 8, 2011
Time: Evening.

Hello, my name is (name removed). I am 33 years old and live in East Tawas. We live 4 blocks away from the lake. Last night, 10/8/2011 myself, my mom, and my husband witnessed a large red with orange light in the sky. It moved horizontally to the north. It was very large with no noise.

It drifted up a little bit and in one second disappeared. I have seen strange things in the sky before, but this was something that I can't explain. When me and my husband went outside, he told me that he thought it smelled really good.

This is strange to me because he usually doesn't say anything about how things smell. I am not sure if this is important, but I thought I would mention it since it seemed peculiar. What we saw was amazing. Sincerely.

Large Reddish Orange Ball Over East Tawas State Dock In East Tawas Michigan

Date: September 5, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:10 p.m.

On the night of Sept. 5, 2010 my wife, myself and another couple were sitting on the back of my boat at East Tawas State dock in East Tawas, Michigan. It was about 10:10pm when we observed a large reddish orange ball that looked like it was on fire. At first though I though it was a hot air balloon that was on fire. It traveled from the southwest to the northeast in what appeared to be a horizontal path.

After about 20 seconds it accelerated to a high rate of speed and went up and out of sight. A friend of mine told me today that the news in upper Michigan reported that a near miss with an asteroid took place that night. I doubt that an asteroid could change direction and then accelerate. I wonder why this did not make the world news. Any information that you might have will be appreciated.
