Red/Orange Colored Lights Spotted Over Montauk New York

 

Date:  July 16, 2012

Time:  Between 8:52 p.m. and 8:54 p.m.

 

We (family) were sitting out on deck of beach resort in Montauk N.Y. On July 16th 2012 (Monday) and spotted the first of 5 sightings of red/orange odd shaped orbs fly past us. The first to past by came by between 8:52/8:54.

 

It came past us quickly and then continued to pick up speed and reached an altitude that finally became out of sight. The second one we timed was around 9:10. This time- past much slowly by us, as my son noticed a glowing flame. Then speeded up and headed way up into the atmosphere. This was the closest view.

 

The last sightings were 9:12-9:37 and another 10 to 15 minutes later. Same speed of travel but further away from us now and then going up so far in the distance. Then out of sight. This all occurred in the evening. Our intentions were to spot shooting stars and were quite surprised to see this. I was able to take a few photos.

 

When viewing them on the computer after transferring them from the camera. I captured the lights and in one photo (only when magnified) there appears several faint orbs far in the distance, but not red.  And there appears to.

 

Be an odd disc shaped object. All of this was fascinating, but I am curious as to what all of this could be.
