6 To 8 White Lights In The Sky Over West Palm Beach Florida

Date:  December 31, 2012
Time:  Evening.

Brian, my girlfriend and I saw these things on our way home from dinner in West Palm Beach. Never saw anything like it.

There were about 6 to 8 white lights, not blinking and flying very slow, in formation.

Then, it appeared as if some of them were dimming and slowly, all but three disappeared. Those three turned direction and started flying the other way, slowly and then suddenly disappeared.

We were absolutely stumped at trying to come up with an explanation as to what they were and still have no idea. I immediately came home and looked up on the internet to see if anyone else reported seeing them.

They were definitely not planes as they would change direction in a second. Very odd.

Please let me know if you discover what they were.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Also, please feel free to send in your sightings that have happened years ago. So many of these older sightings are nothing short of amazing.

I saw about 5 or 6 lights in the sky here in cocoa beach at around 10pm or so on new years eve 2012. When I saw them they were red and it looked like they were launched from patrick air force base in satellite beac about 5 minutes down the road from where I live. I was going to take the garbage out and noticed 3 red lights right next to eachother which at first glance looked like planes but then I realized that they werent moving much and were right next to eachother. I watched them for a minute then turned around to set the garbage down down for a brief second, turned around and 2 of them were already gone. Which is weird because they didnt appear to be moving fast (if at all) and the red lights were really bright. They would have either had to increase their speed at a rate that ive never seen before (which is unlikely since ive seen the fasest planes on the planet in flight numerous times) or they dropped their boosters. ive seen countless launches here and this was alot different then any ive ever seen also. As the 3rd light started to fade a guy walked up and we both Were excited about what we saw and had to make sure we both saw it when 2 or 3 more lights looked like they were being launched, or flying at about 75 degrees to the horizon. They seemed to hover for a minute or so also but these ones seemed to lose their bright red color and head south with a faint white light that vanished within a few seconds. From what ive seen it looked more like a launch but coming from patrick air force base, and unlike any launch ive ever seen before. Which is hard to believe since ive seen so many. As far as I know, the only thing that would launch at pafb would be missiles. Everything else launches from cape canaveral. im not sure if missiles propel alot different then rockets or shuttles when they go up but this was definitely alot different and if boosters dropped they would have dropped over land which ive also never seen before. So in a nutshell, the only thing that resembled a launch was the angle it went up (aside from it being over land in a populated area) and the rate that it went up, until it hovered, changed direction, and vanished, but it didnt resemble any plane ive ever seen except for the red light at first. If you hear anything else about this please let me know and vice versa. Im gonna look into patrick air force base
