Hi, I saw the same thing yesterday morning in Kingston, New York around 4:00 a.m. It is exactly as you described. Silent, square with lights to outline the large square frame and bright lights underneath that were different colors.
Went slowly above trees. I have never seen it before. Hope my comments help you.
