I saw the exact same thing coming straight down as well in Texas. I was in Arlington and saw it at 1:30 a.m. or so.
It was more of a ball shape and looked bigger like we where close to it.

I wad driving last night in frisco tx when I saw the same thing. Was bright blue with a blue trail behind it and was big n seemed really close and disappeared as fast as it came.
I saw the same thing due west of me here in Kansas. Super bright light.
