I live in Ladera Ranch and I saw 4 orange lights rising then turning one by one then they would hit the same area then disappear.
They were coming in the direction of Dana Point.

Im in salem Oregon and I saw the same exact thing. it looked like balls of fire and every time it hit the same spot itd disapear.
I live in Ladera Ranch, I have seen many strange objects the past two years from 2011-2012. Some I have captured on film and video. As of 2013, it appears that the activity has quieted down. By the way, Thanksgiving evening I saw 4 orange colored lights off of the 5 freeway, heading towards Nellie Gail. They were large and bright orange.
