Hi, at 6:30 p.m. or so, right after dinner, I was driving with a friend just east of Poughkeepsie, NY (Hudson Valley region, Dutchess County) and saw the comet too! It was orange at the head and tail was yellow to green/blue.
I watched it zipping across the sky in an arc, like when fireworks move away from their origin, and then it looked like it simply disintegrated
It was my first "comet" sighting. It was beautiful.
Your site was the only thing I could find that mentioned the sighting.
