Orange Glowing Object With Tail Streaks Across The Sky Over O'Fallon Missouri

Date:  November 7, 2012
Time:  10:20 p.m. - 10:25 p.m.

I live on the south side of O'Fallon, MO by Winghaven Golf Course. I was letting my dog out at about 10:20-25 pm. As I step out on the porch and look north I notice something streaking across the sky horizontal to the ground.

It only took a second or two to go across the sky. It glowed orange and left a streak of an orange tail behind it. Seemed to be propelled like a rocket, but it was moving at an incredible speed. It didn't appear to be that high off the ground - low flying.

I called the O'Fallon, MO police to report it at about 10:35 p.m. That can most likely be confirmed. They gave me an 866 phone number that was connected to the FAA I believe, but I didn't follow up and call that number.

Did anyone else see this last night?

Green Object Flying Through The Sky Over O'Fallon Missouri

Time:  Approx: 6:05 a.m.

Hi, I was driving south on Hwy 79 in O'Fallon, Missouri this morning and saw the same thing, it appeared more green to me, it was traveling west to east and also went behind a tree line.

Strange Looking UFO Seen Over O'Fallon Missouri

Full Description of Event/Sighting: It looked the Star Wars X-Wing Fighter ship. At each point of the 'X' I noticed different colored lights. The UFO was moving particularly slow through the sky.

 

For the first 3 minutes I saw it, I thought it was a star from a far. Any others notice this?

Red Object With Orange Fire Over Hunters Pass CT O'Fallon Missouri

Location of Sighting: Over my house 2 Hunters Pass ct. O'Fallon Missouri.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My son told me that there was something flying over our house as we pulled into the driveway. I didn't know what he was talking about, but I could sense the urgency in his voice. I left the vehicle running and got out.

He pointed over the house. I saw what looked to be a red balloon/with orange fire near bottom/center. Looked to me to be the size of a basketball. My son said it was more the size of an exercise ball to him.

I went to the camcorder app on my phone and took a short video as it appeared to float off east into the distance. There was no noise coming from it, and it appeared to flicker orange, and stay at the same altitude.

Orange Amber Glowing Sphere Over O'Fallon Missouri (Pictures)

Location of Sighting: O'Fallon Missouri.

Shape of Objects: Orb/Sphere.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: We were facing due east watching fireworks from our back yard and saw an orange/amber glowing sphere moving south to north at 9:17 pm Central.

Initially, we assumed it was a firework, but quickly realized that it wasn't. It was not an aircraft because it had no flashing lights indicative of an airplane or helicopter. The object was a glowing orange/amber circular shape.

It maintained altitude and traveled on a flat trajectory (south to north) across the horizon. It left no trail (contrail or smoke) and made no sound. It was not a firework, airplane, or helicopter. We have two airports in close proximity and see air traffic regularly. The object remained visible for roughly one minute, until it moved over the north horizon.

The cloud cover reported at Lambert International Airport (25 miles away) was cloudy at 7,000 ft and mostly cloudy at 15,000 ft. The object must have been below 15,000 ft in order to have remained visible.
There was just enough time for my wife to grab our digital camera from the kitchen and shoot one picture before we lost sight of it as it crossed the northern horizon behind some trees.
