We saw it too. Approximately at 12:30 a.m. 01/01/12 we were outside watching the fireworks and saw a line of bright orange lights that appeared for about 5 minutes and then just disappeared. Then once they disappeared, an owl flew right over our house.
All I could think of was the movie "The Fourth Kind" and we were freaking out. I had never seen anything like this in my life. By the way this was in West Palm Beach, Fl.
