Time: Evening.
I saw something very similar near Detroit, Michigan. My husband and I were sitting on our front porch last night and saw a bright red/orange fireball in the sky, one small piece broke off of it and then the two pieces disappeared behind the tree line.
We were very curious as to what it could be. I tried searching the news but this is the only thing I could find.
