UFO Three Times Larger Than The Moon Seen From The South Carolina State Prison

Time:  Evening.

I worked at a South Carolina State Prison back in 1999 and seen something kind of similar to what you described.

I was circling the perimeter of the prison one night, and as I came around one corner, I seen an object that looked like the largest moon I had ever seen in my life.

It looked about three times bigger than the moon when it's closest to the Earth. I stopped the truck and just looked at it, with tears streaming down my face.

I sped around to where another officer was on a post and I took a pair of their binoculars and drove back around to where I seen it, but it was gone. I wish I had stayed a while longer to watch it leave, but I didn't.

I'll always regret that. Sorry it wasn't in the same area as your sighting as you had asked, but I just had to comment on that.

Orange Pulsating Light In The Sky Under The Moon In Fairfield California

Orange Crescent Moon Shaped UFO Splits Into Three Over Lancaster California (Diagram/Pictures)

Hello, my name is (name removed) and I live in Lancaster California. I am 34 years old and never had a UFO encounter.
 
Last night July 30, 2014 at 9:30 p.m. PST, I witnessed an orange, crescent moon shaped object. It elongated and split into three separate bodies then reformed and dissolved.

I have two photos I took with my iPhone. I'm kicking myself for not taking more.

Witnesses Watch Blue Object That Looked Like A Waning Crescent Moon Over Grundy Virginia

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My sister and I were on our way home from Abingdon, VA going to Hurley, VA. The stars were beautiful that night as I had been star gazing the whole way home (I was the passenger).

The sighting occurred at the new mountain (Some sort of bypass with the Coalfield Expressway they’re trying to build) in Grundy, VA, "Walmart Mt" if you will. The moment when we started to go down the hill we saw a UFO.

I didn't see it go from one side of the sky to the other; I didn't even see it until it turned it's super nice blue lights on (I guess it was hovering in the middle of the sky and decided to leave so it turned on its “get the hell out of here” lights) and that thing was gone.

I’ve never saw anything go so fast. It didn't have a noise (I had my window down cause I was smoking (a cigarette by the way). It was shaped like a Waning Crescent Moon (but rotate the image in your head to the right) and it went from my right to my left, but it was hovering right above us (or it appeared out of thin air, but I like my hovering theory) and I only saw the lights, I couldn't make out a ship color.

I think it was either a round shaped UFO with only one half of the edges lit up, or it was just the crescent moon shape and it was completely lit up (the latter being what I actually saw).

When it turned the lights on, it lit some of the sky up, sort of like lightning, but not as far out into the sky as lightning would and the “lightning” was a bright LED Blue color just like the lights.

And it was higher than the trees, but no where near the stars. I really don’t know anything about altitude to describe how far it was, it seemed close, but not close enough to scare me. It was as big as a full moon would be hanging in the sky.

I wish I could see it again, it wasn't scary, it was cool. It was so fast, it had turned those lights on and was gone before I could finish saying "Wow". The lights on it could've been one light as I didn't see any gaps to prove separate lights, but I don't know how it could be a single light and be shaped like that.

The lights didn’t blink nor flash, they were just turned on and they stayed on. I guess it could be some form of a military craft, but I can’t identify it, and it was a flying object. So it’s a UFO to me, until someone can prove me wrong.

Bright Moon Sized White Ball Of Light Falls From The Sky Seen From Donegal Pennsylvania

Time:  Approx: 7:00 p.m.

I was traveling on the PA Turnpike just outside of Donegal, PA around 7:00 p.m. last night (October 16th, 2012).

It was not completely dark yet. The sky was clear. No clouds, no stars, no moon visible and the turnpike was busy.

There was a tractor trailer ahead of me, cars behind me and passing me. In the distance there were mountains, on either side of the road were woods.

All of a sudden out of nowhere this big bright white ball of light appeared in the sky. Off to the left in the distance, but very close and low in the sky. A split second earlier it was not there. It just appeared at the blink of an eye.

It didn't move and was only stationary in the sky long enough that it caught my attention. I have never seen anything so bright. It was just this big ball of radiant white light, about the size of the moon if the moon where to be visible, but it was low in the sky, in the atmosphere, and close.

Just as quickly as I noticed it glowing in the sky, it dropped at free fall speed into the woods. It didn't leave a trail like a shooting star, a fireball, or a comet. It just dropped straight down, and fast.

I couldn't believe what I had just seen, and even more unbelievable was that no one else seemed to notice or be alarmed by it. No one slowed down or pulled off the road.

Everyone kept moving at 65 mph or faster.

I fully expected to see an explosion of some kind coming from the woods, because this thing was big, the size of the moon if it were in the sky, but low.

This LED like bright ball of light just dropped like a lead balloon from the sky down into the trees. You would think it would freak me out, but I wasn't frightened by it. I was just stunned.

I didn't get freaked out until I got home and Googled "Ball of white light dropping from the sky". That's when I found this site, and others, with all kinds of accounts of other people who have seen exactly what I saw in other places at various times.

I don't watch UFO television shows, there is nothing I could have seen or heard that would influence me subconsciously to come up with a story like that.

I watched the local news last night to see if anything was reported, but nothing.

Orange Moon Like UFO Seen Flying Over Arlington Vermont

Hi, your description of dimly lit orangey moonlike sphere is what I saw at 10:45 on April 25, 2012 in Arlington, Vermont.
I was coming from my sons home. Didn’t have a cell as there was no reception in that  area. Saw glow up ahead stopped and viewed this sphere of about 25-30 seconds between trees at 3 different spots.

It was no gas and no balloon. Told police in morning and newspaper. There was no moon that night, only a tiny crescent. Spoke to planetarium directors and my account on is on MUFON.

This was so completely clear. After I went to all the trouble, I hit the point where there was no point anymore as there are no answers.

I look for any other sighting like mine, but as yet have seen none. I was going into grass off road turned back to road and it had vanished.

Massive Orange Crescent Moon Shaped Object Seen Over South West Chicago Sky

Hello there, I was on my balcony on the fourth floor of a south side Chicago building. It faces west and on the horizon I noticed a red-orange crescent shape slowly descending over the horizon. It was about 10:20 p.m.
I have no idea how to explain what this was as it started small and became increasingly larger then disappearing below the horizon.

It could not have been the moon because at that time the moon would have been high in the east part of the sky and not west over the horizon.

Please let me know if anyone else in my area saw this same thing last night.

Massive Red Crescent Moon Shaped Object Seen Over Brooklyn And Manhattan New York

Last night I saw one, red, crescent moon shaped object slowly descend below the horizon. I was standing at the address below and was looking over Brooklyn and Manhattan into New Jersey. 

The object was bright enough to be seen through heavy rain and cloud cover. Over the five minutes I watched it descended from about 25 degrees to the horizon and then disappeared behind the buildings.

It appeared to be massive, larger than a full moon.

Large Harvest Moon Like UFO Over Dayton Ohio

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was leaving my boyfriends house at 4:00 a.m, as I started down the road, I noticed a large light colored object (not a bright light, but more like a harvest moon color, but not orange) above the horizon.

 

At first I thought it was a harvest moon, but it was in the wrong place in the sky and there wouldn't be a harvest moon in March. Then I noticed it was moving, so I followed it, it stayed on a straight course, but appeared to be getting smaller as it went.

 

Then it got very small and disappeared. It was a clear night, not a cloud in site.

Thin Upturned Sliver Moon Seen From Crescent City California (Waxing Crescent Moon)

Hi, I don't know much about the phases of the moon, but last night at about 6:00 p.m. I went to get the mail, it was very dark already and as I drove I saw low on the horizon an upturned sliver moon.

 

It was so odd looking it was yellowish with an outline in red. it was like a boat shape tips upward (not tilted at all) and very thin.

 

I noticed cars stopping to look at it.

Orange Red Fireballs Over Moon Lake Area Of New Port Richey Florida

 

Date:  December of 2011

Time:  Evening.

 

My cousin saw the same thing in December of 2011 in the Moon Lake area of New Port Richey. Actually, he saw these multicolored "fireballs" as he describes it, moving above the tree line near Hidden Lake subdivision.

 

They appeared to be floating, but not randomly, more like on a course. They would sometimes dip below the tree line. He states they were huge and made no sound. The fireball was not always orange or red in color, but changing colors.

 

He stated they were not flares or even a Chinese lanterns as they seemed to be under some sort of intelligent control. They flew directly overhead before they disappeared behind the tree line by Hidden Lake Estates.

 

There is a private airport there, but he claims this was no aircraft as we know it. He saw it again another night as well, and this time there were two other witnesses who all saw the exact same thing.

Man Spots Moon Sized UFO Hovers Over Memphis Tennessee

 

Date:  November 15, 1964

Time:  10:00 p.m.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: At 10:00 p.m. around mid-November of 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), I was asked by my mother to take out the garbage. I went out back and I noticed a bright white full moon above.

 

I looked closer and I noticed it had a uniform whiteness with well defined circular outline, but I was not able to see the shades of white or grey that made the man in the moon face. It was equally as bright as the real full moon, bright enough to create a moon shadow.

 

I looked around and I noticed another moon that was bright orange. This other moon was rising over our neighbor's house to the east, as I looked through the side yard from the backyard to the front. It had the features that created the man in the moon, so I believed that it was the real moon.

 

I looked above and stared again at the white full moon for a few minutes, then it made a rapid ascend in the sky. I estimate the ascend speed between 180 to 300 knots. As it rose, it became a smaller and smaller moon until it appeared to looked like a bright star, then a dim star, then disappeared into space.

 

It reminded me of the Star of Bethlehem when it was at high altitude. The event occurred within a mile of the Area 51 of Tennessee, that is near Highway 51 in the Frayser neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee and the event lasted about fifteen minutes.

I was only seven when I witnessed this UFO, that I now call the "Moon of Memphis". I had a good memory of the event so that when I was trained in the Air Force as a navigator, I was able to analyze the event better with my aviation experience. I estimate that the "Moon of Memphis" was at twenty thousand feet and was about ten acres in size.

 

I developed this information from watching the ascend of the "Moon of Memphis" through some high cirrus clouds that I estimate was at sixty thousand feet. At twenty thousand feet it would have taken four 747 aircraft parked in a circle to cover the area of the "Moon of Memphis" UFO, thus creating a ten acre size estimate.

 

When it hovered above me, it was exactly the size and shape of the real moon when seen high in the sky. Most observers probably could not tell the difference between the "Moon of Memphis" UFO and the real lunar moon when it's hovering above.

Bright Moon Sized Orange Object Over The South Side Of Indianapolis Indiana

Mr. Vike, In amazement of what I just witnessed, I quickly got on the Internet to help me figure out what I just saw. After I read your story and it appearing to match mine so close on being exactly a year apart, I thought I would send you this.

Here is my story. My boy and I just got home from shooting fireworks from my parents house. He ran in excited to see her, for she has been sick with the cold and decided to stay home. As my son told my wife about the fireworks, everyone is getting ready for bed, I took out the dog.

I noticed that my dog was acting a little funny for he didn't want to go for a walk. Perhaps it was the shock of the fireworks, I don't know. But at this time, most of the fireworks was over. 11:45pm July 4, 2011. At that moment, I had a funny feeling to look up to the sky in the northeast.

I saw a bright orange object slowly moving in a southerly direction. It was most definitely brighter than any aircraft. It made no sound. It wasn't moving fast at all. "What the hell is that?" I recall asking my dog. He saw it at first and refused to move.

The object was moving south out of my line of sight due to my neighbors tree. I quickly ran across the street and east a little ways until I got to my street corner at E. Pleasant Run Parkway South Drive and Linden Street. I faced south east and was seeing it perfectly.

It never blinked. It was like looking into a flash light from a distance, bright in the center with a ring around it. It seemed to wobble slowly and hover for a minute or two over what I believe from my best guess is beach grove. At this time, I called my father and told him what I was looking at. Looking at my cell phone's outgoing call, it was 11:46 and I stayed on the line until it blinked out 2.5 minutes.

So, what I seen is exactly in that video. It was from my point of view, as large as the moon, from the northeast of me while it was heading dead south. It wobbled goofy like around about the beach grove area and continued south until it was the size of a star then finished.

It was hazy out due to the fireworks and the time of night I think. No cloud in the sky. The sky was very clear. No wind. There was no sound, other than the occasional fire cracker.

It could be military for all I know. What I do know is I see planes overhead all the time, and it wasn't like anything I have ever seen before.

Besides seeing something in the sky tonight that I can not identify, my dog would not come with me across the street for a walk. That is the first time in the eight years that I have had him. He watched me for the whole 4-5 minutes while I was full of amazement and he never moved until I told him to get inside.

Milky White To Orange Colored UFO Appears To Look Like The Moon Over Bristol Connecticut

A Vike Factor Note: Sometimes things get confusing for folks, so I thought I would mention that I, Brian Vike did not witness any of these types of sightings. I reside in a small town here in Houston, British Columbia Canada. Any sightings I have had have taken place here in Houston, and no where’s else.

Over Bristol watershed, coming from the south, starting as a bright white light that could be a plane coming from the Bristol airport as they appear to turn toward the east over Bristol reservoir #2, appearing like the moon travelling at the speed of a small plane and going below the tree line. It turned from white to orange as it went, and there was no audible sound.

Hi Brian, I believe I first saw something that looked like the moon, except that it was travelling at what appeared to be the speed of a small plane and descending low over the tree line on the night of 2/23/11 sometime between the hours of 9:00 and 10:00pm. I saw the same thing again the next night, this time as I watched it turned from a milky white color to orange as it moved through the sky.

I then Googled something like orange disc shaped lights over Bristol CT, which led me to a site titled "Reports". In the 48th section from the top I found the link "6 to 7 Red Objects - Terryville and Wolcott, CT. The article describes a sighting at the Terryville fairgrounds last 4th of July, and at the bottom it had your contact info and I sent you this email.

I thought you were the person who had the sightings, so I was a little surprised to find your name connected to different sightings at many different locations. Where are you located and what is your function and relation to these websites and sightings? Also, I mentioned your name to a friend who is currently at a UFO conference in Arizona.

Half Moon Flying UFO Hovering Around The Farm Over Mercer County West Virginia

Date: January/February 2011
Time: Evenings.

A Vike Factor Note: I have been receiving numerous sighting reports of a half Moon/Crescent shaped object flying about. The reports are coming from different areas and different country's. What I thought some of the reports were of a Crescent Moon, I am going to have to take a closer look into these types of sightings.

My mother has been telling me that she has seen several times a half moon flying object hovering around the farm at night and at times is there for a hour or more and she does not know what it is. This is within the last month Jan/Feb 2011.

She states its a half moon shaped and the first time she saw it, she woke up and saw lights shinning around the house and window and thought someone was outside. So she got up to look and saw the object floating around and watched for almost an hour before it finally left up the valley and across a ridge.

She says that there is a man in it, and I ask her how do you know and she says she can see him sitting in it and that he has a light he shines around as if looking around the fields and has a blue uniform on? She states that it does not make a noise and moves slowly around and at times is so low she wonders how it keeps from hitting the power line. Then it moves up around the ridge line and disappears.

She states she has saw it 3 to 4 times now and expect she will see again. The last time was around a week ago. Its always at night.

This is the three cross road area of Mercer County West Virginia.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I noticed an extremely large, orange yellowish, half moon shaped object I assumed was the moon. I told my children to "look at how huge and low the moon was tonight". Also, it appeared to be a half moon, but instead as the usual crescent shape, it was like the lower half of the moon.

As we drove east on the freeway, I noticed it getting smaller and thought how strange that a cloud would be so low as to cover it up partly. It continued to get smaller and smaller. I watched it the whole time. A matter of maybe 2 minutes, if that. Then, it was gone. We were amazed and very confused. There was nothing left of this huge low hanging object that was clear as day to all 3 of us.

Orange Moon Sized Semi Circular Object Over Chandler Arizona

Time: 11:25 p.m.

I saw something that sounds very similar to what you saw. I was driving home from a friend’s house, when I looked out and saw a huge semi-circular object in the sky. It was so large, I thought it was the moon.

It was a burnt orange color. I stopped my car and got out to look at it. It then seemed to change shape/get smaller until it just disappeared. I Googled Orange ball of light and came up with your page. Any ideas on what it is? Have you heard anybody seeing anything similar?

6 To 8 Glowing Moon Shaped UFOs Over Denver Colorado

Date: 1990 - 1992 (?)
Time: Nighttime.

1990-92: I am not sure of the date. But one night I was sleeping in my second floor apartment in Denver, CO. There were shadeless windows all around the apartment, so my view of the sky was not blocked. Anyways, I woke up and immediately saw 6-8 glowing moon shaped orbs in the night sky. I knew instantly that these were UFOs and I proceeded to get up so that I could run to the window and watch them.

However, the next thing that happened was, that it was morning and I was waking up! I then remembered what I had seen and that I never made it to the window. Somehow I knew that "THEY" had knocked me out. I was really amazed at how excited I had felt about watching those orbs and then how I seemed to have no memory afterwards until I had awakened in the morning.

About a year or so later I contacted (name removed) (Boulder, CO: Alien investigator) and talked to him about the orbs. He agreed to meet with me because my story had been confirmed by the wife of a local sheriff, who had also seen the same orbs on the same night. We did talk about the orb experience and the "missile" experience. I don't believe that I am an abductee.
