Full Description of event/sighting: It was near sundown on a slightly foggy winter day, I was riding my bike northbound on a small country road when I suddenly noticed a huge object hovering about 1000 feet to the northwest of me. I'm not sure if it was there the whole time or spontaneously appeared. It was silent, fairly large (about the size of a house), silvery-purple in color and the material seemed metallic and had an iridescence. The object had a rectangular base, with a somewhat ventricular top, and a number of exterior pipe-like protrusions that were fashioned of the same silvery-purple material as the rest of the object.
It was low to the earth, only about 20-30 feet over the ground. It frightened me. I turned my bike around and rode away as fast as I could. Initially. the object began to follow me (silently), it trailed me for about 200 yards and then made a sudden change of course and flew off (still rather low to the ground) due east towards the Rancho Seco nuclear power plant where I eventually lost sight of it in the deepening gloom.

l believe I saw this too. my ex was called to inspect a weld at ranchon seco nuclear plant. it has been a long time but I believe it was in November of1980. since I did not have clearence to enter the plant I waited in the car. it was starting to get dark and he finally came out. we then went to visit a friiend that lived in Sacramento. along the highway we saw something in the distance hovering over an overpass. I first thought it was a blimp with some kind of advertising in lights going around it. As we got closer to it there was no mistaking that it was a saucer shaped craft turning slowing with blue light going around it and one white light on the bottem. it was hovering next to the. freeway next to the overpass. as we drove by it I looked out the back window of the car and it was gone. I was told by my ex too never tell anyone what we saw. But it has haunted me for a very long time.

I was on jack tone rd and east prouty if you go all the way to the end of east prouty the road ends in the distance you can see rancho seco I observed a huge ufo hoovering then
It started upward and shot off at tremondous speed out of site.
