Two Bright Orange Lights Over Melbourne Florida

Date:  January 7, 2012
Time:  Evening.

Hi, my name is (name removed). I live in Melbourne, Florida. On the night of January 7th, me and my family were sitting outside and all of a sudden I looked up and saw what looked like to be two bright orange orbs, slowly flying through the sky.

One was a little further than the other, but they were travelling at about the same pace. The one that was in front, just slowly disappeared at some point and right when the second one reached that exact point, it also disappeared.

We were all confused to as what it was. Then about 30 seconds later we saw one more a little closer to the Earth just hovering slowly up and down in the distance.

It was very eerie. After about 20 seconds it also disappeared. I have been dying to find out what it was, then I found your blog about the sighting on the same night.

Please get back to me.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

My boyfriend and I have together seen these strange lights in Indialantic over the river on two seperate occasions. The first time was on New Year's Eve 2012, at around 10:30pm. There were six lights flying in a v-formation. The lights changed from red, to orange, and white. They then flew into a verticle uniform line, and slowly disappeared one by one. The second time was just last night, on 1/19/2012. This time it was just one light, flying low over the river. The light changed from red to orange and white, and then it quickly took off up into the night sky. Another man driving on A1A saw the light and pulled over to speak to us about what we saw. There are other people taking notice of these occurances as well, as we did notice a low flying military plane in the area of both sightings.

We had anchored our boat just south of the bridge and saw two red orbs appear from behind the buildings to the west. They traveled silently and nearly in tandem east just over the bridge, then rose up to the north east and disappeared into the clouds. I tried to rationalize it as "St Elmo's fire on the overhead power lines until they took off to the north.

This morning at about 5:35, in the southern sky I saw a green triangle shape object with a tail that arched. Melbourne Suntree area.

My family and neighbors also saw the lights on New Year's Eve. We were baffled. I spent days looking for possible explanations and I think what we all saw were chinese lanterns.

At least that is how I came to rationalize the event. At the time it was very disturbing.

Jamiej805, I'm the man that pulled over and was talking to you on that in the shopping plaza on A1A.
Did your video or photos turn out?
I saw another different one on the 4th of july again. Did you see it come over the river that night and follow it to beachside? I was driving south and saw it come down to the plaza.
Amazing.

I have seen the chinese lanterns and they tend to drift and go straight up but they never change direction with no wind or go against the wind. They do change color from red to orange to white.
The closest, most incredible sighting was a discernable reddish orange sphere that came down under the flight path of airliners flying into Melbourne airport thru Indialantic plaza near Longdogger's. This object stopped over the plaza about 50ft above the roof. Myself , Jamiej805 and her companion watched it for about a minute. Then it turned , slowly rising and moving to the south. It looked as if you could see a back to it, like a traffic light when it turned. No sound at all , plus it was right there under the planes. I can't believe more people did not see it.

Suntree FL - This evening at approximately 10:00 pm I walked out to my driveway and saw a glowing orange orb approximately 3 to 5 ft in diameter pass over the tree’s across the street from my house. The object was approximately 50 to 100 ft above the tree’s and made no sound and was traveling about 20 miles per hour. It was flying level but made several short even turns and then flew straight (South East) towards Indian River / US 1. I watched it till it was out of site. Amazing!

Hi on January 12th 2013 , I was driving east on Henry avenue in west Melbourne, Fl. When my wife and I witness 4 orange orbs in a diagonal pattern all exactly the same distance from each other . We witnessed this for about 10 minutes and then poof gone. I had pulled over and some other cars ahead at me had pulled over to watch. Amazing show but still want to know what the hell was it.

If you are in the vicinity of Satellite Beach the weekend of March 23, you'll see many "mysterious" lights in the sky.

First I saw three big orange balls of light flying in formation. They were moving slowly at the same speed. One broke fomation and spred out of sight. A second followed and the third continued toward me. I stood and watched for awhile until it suddenly disapeared.

On the 28 night of December, I was outside in my porch having s cigarette. When I'm out having a smike I always stare up at the stars. Well on this night I see a glowing orange light roughly about 30'4" in diameter slowly streaking across the night sky. Baffled by this sight I rushed in to my home and told my little brother to cone out side. When he arrived the ball was gone and I was in the middle of describing what I saw to him when a second ball came from nowhere and followed the same trajectory as the first ball.

This evening, 8-11-2014 around 9:30 my husband said hurry come look in the sky. There appeared to be between 9 or 12 bright orange lights going over Palm Bay, Florida. They were headed SE towards the ocean. Hovered for a few minutes then disappeared. Did anyone else see them?

Saw strange orange lights Saturday night (9/13/14). Approximating their position just West of I95, and just South of 192. My family just left Sam's Club around 8:45PM and saw them in the sky. There were 6-7 of them. They hovered in place for about 10+ minutes, made a big dipper formation, then slowly disappeared. Weirdest thing I ever saw.
