Blue Flash/Streak Of Light Seen Over Tempe Arizona

I was driving west in Tempe, Arizona and saw a blue flash/streak heading west (8:10 p.m.) Now I can see red flashing lights (not blinking in the same time as air planes) this is strange!

Object Colored Blue Green With A Haze Around It Seen Over Tempe Arizona

Time:  Approx: 8:30 p.m.

 

I am a taxi driver and was out all night that night. I was on a call near Broadway and S. McClintock Dr in Tempe, Arizona when I saw it. I was parked and outside my cab talking to another driver.

 

We had been waiting on a group of people to come out of their apartment and so were just passing time.

 

I looked up and saw a strange object moving rapidly, but not real fast, across the sky from south to north. It looked like it glowed and was a sort of bluish/green or maybe turquoise color.

 

It seemed to me that it had a slight haze around it as it moved although there were no clouds or mists at the level it was flying.

 

I initially thought it could be a firework, but as it moved along I realized it could not be that as it covered too much area and stayed the same brightness as it moved.

 

I would estimate that as I watched it the object covered about 2 miles of sky before disappearing behind some trees. This told me it was actually very low in the sky.

 

The other driver I was with saw exactly the same thing. We were amazed at what we saw as once it was gone and we discussed what it could be we realized we had seen a "UFO".

The time we saw it was about 8:30 p.m. December 31, 2011.

 

By The Way - I was a aviation and high tech technician for various Dept. of Defense projects (and stationed at Luke AFB) back in the 70s and 80s and I am very familiar with how aircraft fly.

 

This was a very weird aircraft if that was what it was, but I doubt it.

Green Colored Meteor Seen Between Tempe And Apache Junction Arizona

Time:  Approx: 8:15 p.m.

 

We were traveling east on highway 60 at about 8:15 p.m. and saw the meteor moving north. At first I thought it surely must be a plane crashing until the light fizzled. Very dramatic, have never seen anything like it!

 

Additional Information:

 

My husband was driving so he'd probably better remember the exact location. I'd say we were somewhere between Tempe and Apache Junction heading east on highway 60. I will talk to him and get you a better answer.

Greenish Blue Object With A Long Tail Seen Towards Tempe Arizona

Hello Brian, I just wanted to let you know that my family and I witnessed the same thing last night around 8:30 p.m. We were at my uncle's house in Guadalupe, when one of our family friends noticed something in the sky over our shoulder.

 

We all turned and saw what looked a ball of fire flying over what seemed to be close over Tempe. It was traveling from north to south from where we were standing. It Was greenish blue and very, very bright.

 

We thought it was a fire work at first, but after seeing the magnitude of it, it was a large ball of light. It had a long tale, almost like a shooting star, but it was traveling a lot slower than any shooting star I've ever seen.

 

Well just wanted to share my 2 cents. Its good to know we weren't crazy and not the only ones who witnessed it.

Blue Green Bright Object Over Tempe Arizona

Time:  Between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

 

My family and I were driving back from Los Angeles to Tempe Arizona when we saw a very slow moving (appeared to be very close), blue-green extremely bright object traveling at a very slow speed. We first saw it through the front window of the car, then it passed slowly to the driver's side window and at that moment it faded or disappeared into the night. 

 

It was extremely clear, extremely bright, and slow moving. It was not traveling straight down from the sky, but at an angle. The word to describe the movement most closely was "gliding". When we approached our neighborhood in Tempe Arizona, we saw the same color and shape objected traveling extremely fast at a higher altitude from the sky shooting at an completely vertical angle. 

 

This sighting lasted about a second or too. Only enough for my husband and I to call out to my boys in the back seat "there it is again"
