Between 9 And 11 Orange Lights Seen In The Sky Over Grosse Pointe Park Michigan

Time:  Evening.

While turning our compost pile I noticed a line of orange lights through the trees, just above our neighbor's house.

I first thought a firework had just exploded, but the embers did not dissipate, so I studied them more closely.

There were between 9-11 orange lights, bright enough to be very low flying aircraft, but they made no noise at all. 

They were flying very slowly northwards (much too slowly to be an small aircraft), evenly spaced, in an arced line except for the last four, which formed a small square.  It looked a bit like the Little Dipper, with less of an arc.

I called my husband outside and he saw the whole formation (assuming it wasn't larger before I noticed it) and, because it was moving out of view, we ran to our front yard where we saw our neighbors and told them to look up.

The lights began extinguishing one by one, and by the time our neighbors witnessed them, there were only three, but they were still bright and silent. 

Then, the last three lights went out, again, one by one, very gradually.

I saw that a local news station ran a story about folks seeing strange lights in the sky in the past few days, but no calls to the local Air Force Base or Federal Government have been returned.

Also, it seems odd that similar lights have been spotted across the country in the last month, in areas that do not have Air Force bases or, unlike us, are not near an international border.

Question: With pleasure, here is where this took place?
Answer: Grosse Pointe Park, MI, approx. 1/8 mile from Detroit River's opening onto Late St. Clair

Question: Can you estimate how high they were?
Answer: The clouds were low that night, and the lights were below them (obviously). I'd estimate they were about as high as the lowest permissible altitude for a small aircraft.

Question: What was the weather like that night?
Answer: Humid, cloudy, winds were E/3mph

Question:  Did you or anyone else you know get pictures for video?
Answer:  No, unfortunately. I drove up the lake afterwards to try to get some images, but it became very foggy and visibility was almost nil.

Question:  There was you and your husband and how many neighbors?
Answer:  Two, so four altogether.

I couldn't stand being baffled for long and have since concluded that the lights were most likely Chinese lanterns released in Windsor, Canada.

They were moving at approxamtly wind speed and direction, and could have easily drifted across the river in the time it took them to "extinguish"/rise above the cloud cover.

I am open to being convinced otherwise if this type of sighting has occurred in areas where the likelihood of Chinese lanterns being lit and set aloft to celebrate or commemorate an occasion is unlikely!

Green Light Flashed In The Sky Seen Between Torrance to Rolling Hills California

Time:  Between 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

I was driving up Hawthorne Blvd from Torrance, CA to Rolling Hills, Ca.

My daughter's friend was in the car and she also saw it. My daughter saw the green light in the car because she was looking down at her lap.

Then the sky was lit up for an hour after. There were some clouds in the sky as well.

Bright Orange Object With Long Tail Seen In The Sky Between Clinton And Warrensburg Missouri

On November, 7th 2012  I was driving to work on Hwy 13 headed north from Clinton, Mo to Warrensburg, Mo when at about 10:15 p.m. I saw a bright orange object traveling from east to west horizontally across the sky with a long tail, it only lasted about 20 seconds.

I was amazed, I had never seen anything like that before other than an occasional falling star. In my opinion this was no falling star, also I live close to Whitman Air force base and have seen my share of military aircraft and it wasn't that.

White And Blue Ball Of Light With Tail Seen In The Sky Between Raceland And Buotte Louisiana

Time:  Approx: 6:20 a.m.

I saw a white and blue ball with a tail go down behind tree line while I was driving to work. It didn't look very far away, maybe a couple of miles. I was on Highway 90 between Raceland and Buotte Louisiana.

It was about 6:20 a.m. this morning. I don't know if it was reported, but I'm sure others saw it from the road, because it was pretty big.

I would like to know what it was. I'm sure where ever it hit the ground, it must have left a big mark.

I saw the same thing while driving northwest on HWY 174 between Springville and Odenville at exactly 6:10 A.M. October 30, 2012.

The light fell from the left to right as I was driving.

I was blocked by a tree line from seeing where it went down.

4 Orange Light Hovering In The Sky Between Merrillville And Schereville Indiana

12 To 16 Orange/Yellow Lights Seen In The Sky Between Savannah And Brunswick Georgia

Date:  2010 and September 3, 2012
Time:  Evenings.

Hello, I can't open your video, but in 2010 my daughter and I were at the dock. It's a private community in South Georgia on the water. We saw at least 12 - 16. orange/yellow lights. Pulsating, almost like a pattern.

Then diminish and start over again. This was over the water. We are between Savannah and Brunswick. A lot of military bases. After watching for 30-45 minutes.  Helicopters were coming all around! Not like military that we usually see. Shining bright lights! Went on home.

We kind of were scared. From my bedroom I could hear the helicopters for at least 3  more hours. Didn't see anything again until September 3, 2012.  We were at the dock again. 1 bright orange light. Much different. Pulsating then another came out. 

There were others that didn't know what it was. Well, thank you, that's our story. I would like to see your video. I have never seen anything similar to my 1st experience. Yours sounds so similar.

Bright Object Seen Between Delaware And Philadelphia Pennsylvania (Venus)

Time:  Evening.

 

I live in in Pennsylvania just between Delaware and Philadelphia in the USA. I noticed a larger then normal bright object in the sky. It's too close to be a star and doesn't appear to be moving.

 

My wife asked me what I was doing which I told her to come out and take a look. She told me that she had already seen it about two weeks ago. She was at a friends house visiting in Delaware and noticed that there were two objects.

 

Now there is only one and I don't have a clue as to what it is. Do you have any ideas? Looking up.

Two Different UFO Sightings – Needle Shaped And A White Disc Seen Between Daytona And Jacksonville Florida

Time:  Approx: 3:00 p.m.

 

I have always believed in the fact that aliens and UFO’s exist (too many sightings and credible witnesses not to) and I actually saw 2 UFO’s on Interstate 95 last year (approximately 3:00 p.m. - 1/30/11) as I was driving North between Daytona and Jacksonville. 

 

The first one was like a silver needle-all flat with no tail or wings and it just flew about a 2 miles in front across the visible highway between the trees. 

 

Then about 20 minutes later, I saw a “white disc” that appeared in the same point of view and at first was still, and then it began to follow a plane that appeared from the left, but then it stopped and went backwards without gaining altitude. 

 

It did this a couple of times and then it disappeared from our sight (I had my cousin in the front seat who also witnessed this one as she was sleeping during the first sighting). 

 

I didn’t report it, as I didn’t know your site existed then. Any insight would be welcomed.

Orange Lights Spotted Between Nob Hill And Pine Island Parkland Florida

They moved in and out of formation of straight line to right triangular positions.

 

The movement was to smooth and fluid to be an air plane.

7 To 12 Red Lights Spotted In The Sky Between Payson And Salem Utah

I seen something around 8:30 p.m. - 8:40 p.m. on 1-25-12. Between Payson and Salem Utah. Looking like 7 or 12  red  lights moving in and out of  formation.

Burst Of Bright Green Light Exploded Several Feet From The Highway Between Laredo And Houston Texas

 

Date:  Late 1980’s

Time:  Evening.

 

Though it has been a few years since my initial experience, I decided to do a little research and find out exactly what we saw many years ago. While searching on Google, I came across these postings, and I thought, "OMG, they are describing what I saw". 

 

Many years back, sometime in the late 1980's my mother was driving my brother and I back from a visit to the city of Laredo,TX. We were visiting family there, and heading back to Houston,TX. I must have been in my early teens, because I vividly recall wearing my black MJ leather zipper jacket during that drive back.

 

As we were driving back, my brother was asleep in the back seat, and I was awake in the front passengers seat. At one point in our drive, a burst of bright green light exploded from the dark Texas landscape, several feet from the highway fence line.

 

Now mind you this is out in the country, where there is nothing, but cactus and cattle ranches. My mother could see the bright flash from the corner of her eye, and asked me what it was. Of coarse, I said, "I don't know", but that night I tried to rationally explain away any misconceptions.

 

I thought maybe it was a broken oil well, or a flare. However, over the years I've come to realize, there was no people standing in the field, in the middle of nowhere lighting flares. Nor was it a broken oil well, because they aren't build on the side of the highway.

 

And I'm highly dubious of any government official or pseudo scientist who tells me its swamp gas. The fact is, we saw what we saw. Obviously it was bright enough, that my mother who was driving at whatever the speed limit was, could see it out of the corner of her eye.

 

My research into optical illusions, and the eyes limited scope of vision are not helping my quest for answers either. If anything, I'm more curious than before, because that greenish flash of light we saw, was anything but ordinary.

Between 20 – 25 Orange Lights Seen Over Gilbert Arizona

 

Date:  January 13, 2012

Time:  Approx: 7:30 p.m.

 

Brian, I live in Gilbert Arizona. My sister and I were taking our evening walk on Friday, 1/13/12, at approximately 7:30 p.m. and also saw between 20 - 25 orange lights in the sky.

They started off low in the sky and moved to the west while dispersing upward and then out of sight, kind of just disappeared. It was very alarming, and thought we were being attacked. It lasted what seemed to be a minute-and-a half to two minutes. 

I had time to dial my husband, he ran out to the yard and also saw these. I called the Gilbert police department the moment I got home (5 minutes later) and they had not received any other phone calls.

I’ve been checking the news and YouTube in hopes that someone had seen these as you could not miss this. Regards.

Green Colored Meteor Seen Between Tempe And Apache Junction Arizona

Time:  Approx: 8:15 p.m.

 

We were traveling east on highway 60 at about 8:15 p.m. and saw the meteor moving north. At first I thought it surely must be a plane crashing until the light fizzled. Very dramatic, have never seen anything like it!

My husband was driving so he'd probably better remember the exact location. I'd say we were somewhere between Tempe and Apache Junction heading east on highway 60. I will talk to him and get you a better answer.

Red Orange Colored Light Seen Between Asheville And Weaverville North Carolina

Time:  Approx: 11:05 p.m.

 

Dear Brian Vike, I was amazed to read a blog entry, which I found through a Google search, about the ball or orange light that was seen last week between Asheville and Weaverville. I saw something that fits that description last night, January 6th (2012) at about 11:05 p.m.

 

I was on interstate 26 driving north to Weaverville from Asheville coming up the hill just before the New Stock Road exit when I saw it. It was a reddish orange light that I at first glance took as a street light. But then I realized that there were no such street lights on I-26 and it was hovering over the center of the road, not the side.

 

It seemed to be moving south over the road about 25 to 50 feet above the road. As I passed under it I looked up and it seemed that something metallic was attached to the light which seemed about the size and shape of a motorcycle, but I only got a glimpse because it was dark and I couldn't take my eyes off the road for very long.

 

I have never seen anything like it, I have been trying to imagine all day what I could have seen last night.

If you have any further developments on this please let me know. I live in Weaverville and I am very curious to know what is flying over my town late at night.

Large Orange Lights Seen Between Ithaca Lansing New York

Time: Evening.

I was driving up East Shore Drive from Ithaca to Lansing when I noticed these very bright, very large orange lights in the sky over the lake. It was hard to see through the trees, and I first thought the lights were a reflection in my side window.

As I was driving up hill, it appeared these lights were "floating" towards Ithaca. I tried to turn around a few minutes later to see if I could still see them, but they were gone.

Between Waldwick And Hoboken, New Jersey Dark Grey UFO

Hi, My Name is Brian and I'm a follower of UFO sightings, I was on your site today and saw that you update daily. I spotted a UFO in New Jersey on the 30th March 09.

I was on my way home on the train from Waldwick to Hoboken. As I watch the skies any time I have the chance I was looking out the window of the train and at between 10.10 to 10.20am (not to sure of the exact time) I saw what seemed to be a UFO, it was to high in the sky to be a bird and was travelling fast. It was a kind of dark gray and looked like some white on it, I think due to reflection. I wasn't to sure what it was till I saw an airplane flying in the opposite direction, it was smaller than the plane and looked about 20 feet and it was traveling faster than the plane. I also saw a plane which looked like it had taken off in the distance as there's a lot of airports near by and that gave me a sort of ruler to see how close and high it was. I hope this can come in handy for you and maybe if someone else spotted it that you might be able to email me back to let me know.

New Jersey Turnpike Between NY And Newark Football Shaped UFO

Time: 1:20 - 1:35 p.m.

Location of Sighting: New Jersey turnpike between NY and Newark.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Eye shaped, football shaped, tortoise shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: In cab on way to airport, had object size of thumbnail at arm's length 45 degrees from horizon, no apparent motion, football shaped, hovering. No visible tether. Clear sky, not a building top as horizon was visible. Seen from several angles for about fifteen minutes while vehicle was changing position on NJ turnpike.

Driver of cab also saw it, when we stopped and unloaded luggage at airport. Still stationery and clearly visible from airport in southeast direction from front of departure terminal. Clearly visible, no motion, dark grey.

Not an airplane, saw from several angles, no wings, no taillights. Only other possibility a blimp, but no motion.
