UFO/Craft Estimated To Be Approximately One Mile Long In The Sky Over Tucson Arizona (Excellent Diagram)

Location:  Tucson, Arizona.
Shape:  Unknown.
Duration:  3-4 minutes.

Large object with multi color running light observed flying above Tucson Arizona.

Witness #1 (name deleted) XX year old male. Retired Police Officer. 4 Years USAF as Security Police. Currently runs (deleted) Company.

At 2230 hrs this date, I (deleted) went to the front of my yard to walk towards a neighbor with the intent of checking on their dog since they were away on vacation. Our house lies in the Foothills (North Central) area of Tucson adjacent the Catalina Mountains.

I heard one of my dogs bark and I turned to look back at the house. Directly above the house I observed the object. The object was flying south to north. I would estimate that it was directly above I-10 (I-10 runs north and south) I-10 is approximately 7 miles due west of my House.

It was approximately 25 degrees above the horizon. I would estimate, and its only an estimate that from light to light would make the object at least one mile long.

My first thought was that the object (s) were in fact 3 objects strung out together and flying in formation. I assumed they were helicopters flying north. There is a Marine aviation base due north of us. Holding my hand at arms length in front of me, I would estimate object would have been (from running light to running light) 4-5 fingers in length.

The object at its southern point had one non-flashing light, in its approximately center was another non flashing red light, at its northern point were two lights, one which was white and non blinking and another light very close to the white light and it was red in color and blinking.

My wife exited the front door and I yelled at her to grab the binoculars and run out with them. This she complied with, retrieved the binoculars and she and (name deleted) came out to join me.

I brought the binoculars into focus and could see the object, which appeared to be moving fairly slow and continuing north. I could also ascertain that there was a darkened area between the 4 lights and that in fact these were not 3 separate objects. This horizontal area or structure did not appear to be very high but was flattened and "line" like.

I handed off the binoculars to both (name deleted) and (name deleted). We continued to watch the object as it continued north.

Approximately 3 minutes into the observation the object appeared to make a flight adjustment and it began turning into a northwest flight angle.

At this point and through the binoculars I could now see the rear end of the object. You could now see that it possessed 2 white lights in the rear of the structure.

It looked as though you were watching the rear end of a car that had two white running lights. The distance between the two rear light would be approximately 1 finger held up at arms length. The 3 other lights (red in the center, white and blinking red up from) were also still visible, but at more of an angle.

The front flashing red light was still visible. At all times the lights remained at a fixed distance from each other, the distance never varied as it would if you were watching a string of conventional aircraft struggling to maintain position relative to each other.

I was able to observe the object from its new flight path for approximately another minute to two minutes until it was lost over the horizon.

My wife and daughter told me (after object was gone) that while I was watching the object, and just before it was lost to sight, that the two of them observed a streaking object come into their field of view.

They were both facing west, as was I, when from their peripheral vision to their right, the object, apparently traveling east to west, caught their attention. They said the object was a fiery white in color, traveling parallel to the ground, and was between us and the Catalina Mountains. (The Catalinas are approximately one half mile North of our home and where we were standing. The Catalinas rise approx. 2900 feet above the valley floor, and my wife said that it was well below the tops of the mountain.

They went on to say that the object streaked toward the larger object (which was now disappearing). I asked them this question later if it was possible that it “merged” with the larger object, and they stated that it may have because that this smaller object streaked directly toward the larger one and also disappeared in the same general area.

The object appears to have corrected its flight path from when first viewed to the point that it turned northwest as I believe I-10 makes the same course adjustments. I believe the object was certainly following and flying directly above I-10, turning as I-10 turned, but I'm not completely sure of this.

I could not estimate its speed, but it was not flying very quickly, but I would guess that if these were in fact helicopters, it would appear to be about the same speed as a helicopter at that distance. There was no sound.

We contacted a nearby neighbor (too late for him to see it), but as we talked in the driveway he related to me that during a ball game this evening, the crowds were witnessing many strange lights in the night skies, he didn't elaborate.

A Formation Of 7 UFOs Spotted In The Sky Over Hicksville Long Island New York (Written Report/Audio Interview)

Date: 1953, 54, or 55 (?)
Time: Approximately: 9:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Hicksville, Long Island, New York.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 7
Shape of objects: Perfectly round.

Full Description of event/sighting: Every summer, for at least 5 summers, a friend of our neighbor across the street from us would visit his grandmother.

He was the same age as me, around 13 years old at the time. We really got along and I looked forward to his visits. I think his name was Harold.

On this particular visit, I told Harold earlier in the day that I got a small hand telescope for Christmas and showed it to him. I said its not easy to see much through it, however, when looking up at night, shooting stars became my fascination. So I told Harold, let's look for shooting stars tonight. He said OK, sounds good.

I told my parents I was going to Harold's grandmothers that night and I would be home around 10:00 p.m. She said fine. After dinner I walked across the street, met Harold and said we would wait for dark.

It seems to me now it was just when the sun set, we decided to lay on the ground and get the best view of the sky.

Long Island is very long directly east to west, and short north to south. We laid on the ground looking directly east. East of Long Island is the Atlantic Ocean.

Our field of view was approximately 30 degrees up, over small trees east, to straight up overhead. The sky was crystal clear. The sky was also grayish dark, being that the sun had not set that far behind the Earth.

As we were chatting and looking for shooting stars, approximately around 15 minutes, what we saw stayed with me to this day.

Coming straight from the east was a formation of approximately 7 perfectly round objects. We could see them so clearly because they were extremely black against the slightly lighter sky.

Also it was so quiet where our houses were in approximately 1954.

They were passing overhead fairly slow. I don't know what size they were, but I had the notion to raise my hand with thumb pointing out, and with my arm straight over one of the objects, it roughly covered the object almost perfectly.

We did not say a word to each other as they passed over. Directly behind us was a gigantic Chestnut tree. We could not see through the tree.

These objects did not make a whisper of a sound, dead silence. When they passed, I said to Harold, "What the hell was that"!

Their formation was not a V shape. It was just a random grouping, and the spacing between them was approximately 3 thumb widths.

I have never seen anything remotely like that in all the years since, and have spent most of my life as an amateur astronomer, up to 8 inch scopes, photographing the skies.

I only saw Harold for a year or two after that, but I am sure Harold thinks about that day, just like me.

UFO With Projections In The Sky Over Hampton Bays Long Island New York (Diagram)

Shape of objects: Modified cup shape, Approximately 12 feet round.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was sitting in a hot tub in my back yard and looking at the stars to the east. It was a very clear old night.

The stars started to blink out which caught my attention, so I stared. As it got closer I could see the outline of something coming down toward me. I thought space debris. But realized it was moving too slow.

Very slowly as it glided over a very tall Maple tree and slowly glided over the roof of my house, and over me.

It was about 50 feet above me, no sound, gun metal blue in color with no rivets or seams. The edges were a lighter grey blue as though worn from great heat.

The center rotated while the outer shell remained stationary. It had short finger like projections which formed the bottom of the shell. It was very hollow, seemed to narrow for a person to be within it.

It glided over my home and then rose slowly and disappeared over the tree-line. I called the State Police as it was heading in that direction. They had no reports from others seeing it.

I also called the Air Guard at Westhampton the next day and asked about it, but they said they didn't see it on radar.

Hello Brian, thank you for your reply. I am very quick to tell people there really are UFOs and the government is not telling the truth about it, but I never go into detail about those weeks on Long Island for dear it may sound to strange.

After the UFO went over the house I started looking up at the sky any chance I got, even while waiting for traffic or a stop light. II forgot to mention that this UFO had no lights. I assume it did not want to be noticed).

A week or so after the event took place I was waiting in my vehicle at a cross road when I saw a dark colored ship above a tree line that bordered a highway. As I watched, it disappeared as it went over the highway and reappeared on the other side of the road.

It was shaped like a child's paper plane. I thought I was seeing things! A few weeks later we were traveling down the Sunrise Highway which bordered the Westhampton Air Guard/Air Force Base.

There was approximately 6 or 7 cars parked on the shoulder of the highway watching 3 or 4 helicopters very close together circling just above the tree tops of the Pine Barrens.

They circled over one very small area and continued to do so for a while. It was unusual enough to catch passing motorists attention. I don't know what it all means, if anything.

I guess that is the worst thing, not knowing. I read everything I can find on UFOs now. I just can't let it go. I am a reasonable, responsible person with a fair amount of education.

UFOs weren't something I thought much about until I saw one. I sent a drawing which isn't too good. But you can get the idea of the shape.

4 Lights Seen In The Sky Over Long Island New York

On August 15, 2014 we are watching 4 lights behind the clouds. There was no beam of light indicating this is not a spotlight.

They are in the shape of a square, but turning in a circle. We are on Long Island, New York.

Orange Glowing Light Seen From Fire Island Long Island New York

Time:  Evening.

Hello, I was in Fire Island last night and saw a orange glowing light the size of a 3/4 moon hovering near the ocean horizon.

After hovering for 20 seconds or so it gradually rose up towards the sky and disappeared into outer space.

My friend and I watched it for a good minute or two. A group of other people were watching from the beach.

Long Bright Light Lit The Entire Sky And Area Over Emmaus Pennsylvania

I too saw thus very long bright light in the sky in 1-22-13 at 12:15 a.m. in the area of Emmaus, Pennsylvania while I was traveling home from work. 

It was like a shooting star, but it lit up the sky for about 1/2 a mile and was very wide and it only lasted a few seconds and was gone. Awesome sight to see.

Bright White Light With Long Blue Tail And Sound Heard Over Somersworth New Hampshire

Hello, my name is (name removed), I actually was in Somersworth New Hampshire and saw it around late, ten something at night.

For us after the long blue tailed streak was ending, it made I bright white light and small crack sound in the sky.

That was instant from when the blue tail ended the white flash started and it was gone.

I was very curious what this was. Did you come up with anything indicating what was the source of this January 19, 2013?

Huge Blue/White Colored Ball Of Light With Long Tail Over Dayton Ohio

Bright White Ball Of Light With Long Tail Seen Flying Fast Over South Of Yuba City California

Yes I saw it at 5:20 am. I was on Highway 99, 12 miles south of Yuba City, CA.

I first thought there was an explosion, it was so bright. I looked up to the east and saw the white streak with a very long what tail.

It also looked like it continued past the bright light (white ball) with a yellow streak. I have never seen a meteor that large and last that long.

Did NASA know it was coming because it was large. Anyone luck out and get a picture.

Bright Orange Fiery Mass Ball Of Light Moving Across The Sky Over Long Beach California

I just watched a bright orange ball Of light moving across the sky. It traveled about the speed of an airplane, but the glow was quite a bit larger.

Where an airplane has several small lights, this was just one large fiery mass. Just before 6:00 p.m. at the ocean Long Beach, California.

Silent Orange Ball Of Light In The Sky Over Stony Brook Long Island New York

I saw the post about the orange balls in the Hudson Valley area.

My son and I saw a large orange ball over Long Island, NY at about 12:40 a.m. this morning.

We were driving down our street and when we first observed it, then it went behind some trees and houses. 

We then drove to another location about 6 blocks away to get a better observation point with less trees, but by the time we got there it was gone.  When we drove back to our street we saw it again. 

This time we got out on foot and went down the street to another open area with less trees. As we arrived at the area with less trees it disappeared.  

It was in a line going about 100 degrees west. That would have put it around the Stony Brook area or maybe further east if it was larger.

It was changing both altitude and intensity very rapidly, possibly indicating movement closer to and farther from the observers but the objects movements were very rapid. 

There was no sound associated with this sighting. There was not a star in the sky as it was overcast.

Object’s Color Went From Yellow To Green Blue Then White With Long Tail Over Massapequa Park New York

Dear Brian, I just Googled “shooting star January 5, 2013 6:30 pm” and it up pulled up your web site.

I have this to share with you.

I live in Massapequa Park, LI, NY and we have planes that come in from the south shore every night.  Last night, around 6:30 p.m.,  I was outside looking up at the sky, it was so clear and lots of star seven with the street lights and all.

All of the sudden, I see the large burst of yellow and the star was moving south, opposite of the directions the planes are going. So it took me a second to realize what I was looking at. 

The star then changes colors. It goes from yellow to green, then blue and then white with the longest tail ever that I have ever seen.

I have seen a lot of shooting stars, but nothing like this.  It was unbelievable, my son was with me and he saw it when it was white. It was slow at first, the it took off.

Object Was Bright White Trail With Red And Blue Fly Over Long Island New York

I saw a bright white trail w red and blue at the tip fly over me so low that at first I thought it was a fire work, but it made no sound and was way brighter than any bottle rocket I have ever seen.

I was able to catch sight of it from beginning to end and as super bright as it was it disappeared in front of my eyes at the end of its arc.

I feel so lucky that I happened to be in the right place right time to see it. Totally awesome.

Three Red Lights Flying Over Long Beach California

I was on the freeway passing Long Beach, CA January 1st 2013 and me and my three kids saw three red lights.

We thought they were planes at first, but they were not blinking and they were following each other a little spaced apart.

I couldn’t stop but would have liked to video tape or take pictures. I never believed in UFOs, but now I may have changed my mind so many sightings in different states and there is no explanation of what we saw.

Large Blue Ball Of Light With Long Blue Tail Seen Over Ridgefield Connecticut

Brian, your page seems to be the only site discussing the meteor my son and I saw last night around 6:33 p.m. EST.

We were in Ridgefield, CT. It was in the sky for maybe 2 to 4 seconds, long enough for my son to say "Whoa, look Dad" while I was unlacing his ice skates and then me turn around to still see it for a second or 2.
It was a big blue ball. To the eye, I'll go with it almost being as big as a full moon. It also had a blue glow around it with a substantially long blue tail. It lit up a good portion of the sky, maybe 1/5 of the entire sky as I could visibly see.

It was traveling southwest, right on the line just past straight south. In fact, since I had my tablet with me and on it I keep a digital compass, I can with confidence say it was traveling between 203 and 205 degrees south west. Ridgefield is usually very clear sky’s and great for star gazing.

We were at 613' altitude according to Google Maps. Putting this meteor at what looked to be about a 45 degree angle as it traveled downward toward the skyline, decreasing that angle.

Is there a scientific record of comets/meteors to reference and double check what my son and I, as well as others reporting on your site, saw?

Long Green Streak Of Light Fly Over Barrington Rhode Island

My wife and I saw the same object from Barrington Rhode Island around 6:35 this evening: A long greenish colored streak of light similar to a meteorite in the southern sky, plummeting downwards at an angle of about 30 degrees to the vertical, lasting approximately a second before disappearing below the horizon.

Light Leaves Green Tail Following Behind Over Long Island New York

Originally we thought it was a plane that when it sped up left a green tail. When it disappeared he thought it went behind a cloud, but we looked closely and there were no clouds, it was a very unique experience.

Orange/Yellow Lights Spotted In The Sky Over Long Island New York (Picture)

Time:  Evening.

Hi, my name is (name removed) and I saw them last night too maybe a little after the time you saw them. I took a picture with my iPhone and it's attached.

My husband and I reported it to the police because initially we saw two, but then we saw 8 and they were hovering for a few seconds then flew away in unison.

I showed the cop the picture, they believed us and filed a report. Twenty minutes later the precinct called me to e-mail them the picture because two more people called seeing the same thing and a person walked in to the precinct with a video of it.

I had seen something like this for the first time back in September of this year. I was at a friends house in Deer Park and as we were leaving at night time we saw those balls of fire in three's in the form of a triangle.

They flew over us but then flew up in the sky and disappeared. Thirty seconds later we saw another 3 and they did the same thing. Well then another set of three passed. My friends wife was telling us that she saw this several times in late August, her son also saw it.

My friend who is a detective just assumed that she saw an airplane and then he was in shock over what he saw. I don't know what is going on, but all I keep think of is if this is what December 21st is about for end of world?

I was never so scared in my life. By the way the location we saw this was in south Freeport by Baldwin Bay. Here is a picture of it. Have you reported what you saw to the police?

10 To 15 Pink/Salmon Colored Lights Flying Over Long Island New York

Time:  Approx: 9:20 p.m.

Hi, I know this is going to sound weird, but I too saw about 10-15 pink almost salmon colored lights approximately 9:20 p.m. I was on the stoop with my dog waiting for Santa with the fire department and I looked up and saw 2 pinkish light almost side by side, but angled.

I then noticed 2 more then 2 more and so on. I have a video of them on my iPhone, but it's grainy and you can't see the color, but you can see the number. As they flew over it was dead silent and then they all passed over and disappeared into the clouds!

Anyone else in NY report this?

I immediately called my mom to tell her what I saw. I thought it might have been President Obama's aerial escorts crossing over Long Island to head to Connecticut for the school shooting memorial, but it was too quiet for that.

Please let me know if I am the only New Yorker to have seen this and will be more than happy to send the video to you.

Orange Fiery Object With A Bright Long Tail Seen Over Louisville Kentucky

Time:  Around Midnight.

I live in Louisville Kentucky. I am online right now trying to figure out what I just saw in the sky. It's a really clear night and I was looking into the eastern sky around midnight EST.

All the sudden I saw a large orange fiery looking light and it literally passed over my head and into the western sky.

It had a very long bright tail and was visible for about 8 seconds. I've seen shooting stars. I watch the Persiad meteor shower every August, but I have never seen anything like this.

I got so excited I immediately got on NASA's website to look for something that may tell me what it was, but found nothing.

I searched pictures of comets and none seemed to really look like it and they say comets tails are not so visible. So I searched bright orange with tail in the sky and found this post. It was incredible and I'm dying to know what it was!
