UFO/Craft Estimated To Be Approximately One Mile Long In The Sky Over Tucson Arizona (Excellent Diagram)

Large object with multi color running light observed flying above Tucson Arizona.

Witness #1 (name deleted) XX year old male. Retired Police Officer. 4 Years USAF as Security Police. Currently runs (deleted) Company.

At 2230 hrs this date, I (deleted) went to the front of my yard to walk towards a neighbor with the intent of checking on their dog since they were away on vacation. Our house lies in the Foothills (North Central) area of Tucson adjacent the Catalina Mountains.

I heard one of my dogs bark and I turned to look back at the house. Directly above the house I observed the object. The object was flying south to north. I would estimate that it was directly above I-10 (I-10 runs north and south) I-10 is approximately 7 miles due west of my House.

It was approximately 25 degrees above the horizon. I would estimate, and its only an estimate that from light to light would make the object at least one mile long.

My first thought was that the object (s) were in fact 3 objects strung out together and flying in formation. I assumed they were helicopters flying north. There is a Marine aviation base due north of us. Holding my hand at arms length in front of me, I would estimate object would have been (from running light to running light) 4-5 fingers in length.

The object at its southern point had one non-flashing light, in its approximately center was another non flashing red light, at its northern point were two lights, one which was white and non blinking and another light very close to the white light and it was red in color and blinking.

My wife exited the front door and I yelled at her to grab the binoculars and run out with them. This she complied with, retrieved the binoculars and she and (name deleted) came out to join me.

I brought the binoculars into focus and could see the object, which appeared to be moving fairly slow and continuing north. I could also ascertain that there was a darkened area between the 4 lights and that in fact these were not 3 separate objects. This horizontal area or structure did not appear to be very high but was flattened and "line" like.

I handed off the binoculars to both (name deleted) and (name deleted). We continued to watch the object as it continued north.

Approximately 3 minutes into the observation the object appeared to make a flight adjustment and it began turning into a northwest flight angle.

At this point and through the binoculars I could now see the rear end of the object. You could now see that it possessed 2 white lights in the rear of the structure.

It looked as though you were watching the rear end of a car that had two white running lights. The distance between the two rear light would be approximately 1 finger held up at arms length. The 3 other lights (red in the center, white and blinking red up from) were also still visible, but at more of an angle.

The front flashing red light was still visible. At all times the lights remained at a fixed distance from each other, the distance never varied as it would if you were watching a string of conventional aircraft struggling to maintain position relative to each other.

I was able to observe the object from its new flight path for approximately another minute to two minutes until it was lost over the horizon.

My wife and daughter told me (after object was gone) that while I was watching the object, and just before it was lost to sight, that the two of them observed a streaking object come into their field of view.

They were both facing west, as was I, when from their peripheral vision to their right, the object, apparently traveling east to west, caught their attention. They said the object was a fiery white in color, traveling parallel to the ground, and was between us and the Catalina Mountains. (The Catalinas are approximately one half mile North of our home and where we were standing. The Catalinas rise approx. 2900 feet above the valley floor, and my wife said that it was well below the tops of the mountain.

They went on to say that the object streaked toward the larger object (which was now disappearing). I asked them this question later if it was possible that it “merged” with the larger object, and they stated that it may have because that this smaller object streaked directly toward the larger one and also disappeared in the same general area.

The object appears to have corrected its flight path from when first viewed to the point that it turned northwest as I believe I-10 makes the same course adjustments. I believe the object was certainly following and flying directly above I-10, turning as I-10 turned, but I'm not completely sure of this.

I could not estimate its speed, but it was not flying very quickly, but I would guess that if these were in fact helicopters, it would appear to be about the same speed as a helicopter at that distance. There was no sound.

We contacted a nearby neighbor (too late for him to see it), but as we talked in the driveway he related to me that during a ball game this evening, the crowds were witnessing many strange lights in the night skies, he didn't elaborate.

Amber Colored Lights In The Sky Over Northeast Tucson Arizona

Time:  Approx: 1:00 a.m.

Brian, my wife and I went outside last night at midnight to see if any neighbors were setting off fireworks to celebrate the start of 2013. What we saw instead was incredible.

A bright, solid amber ball, almost hovering, began to move across the sky from south to north. 

It moved very slowly and at an altitude much lower than a normal air plane would travel. Within a couple of minutes, two more similar light appeared and made a loose triangular pattern. 

They continued north slowly but the balls traveled at different speeds because the triangle began to lose its shape.  Eventually, the lights seemed to go straight up into the sky because they became dimmer and dimmer until they disappeared. 

After a minute or two, the three balls reappeared close to the mountains near Reddington Pass in the far northeast part of the city. 

At this point, they were about 5 miles away from me and they seemed even lower to the ground. After about a minute, the three rose into the sky until they disappeared again.

My wife and I were positive that we would see something about this on the news today or see an internet posting but there is nothing.  She and I are positive that this was not an airplane or helicopter.

The balls moved too slowly and made no noise at all. Oddly, 30 minutes or so after the sighting, several helicopters did fly over our house in the direction where we last saw the lights, this was probably around 1:00 a.m.

Please let me know if you've heard of any other sighting in Tucson last night. The fact that I can find no other accounts of this activity has me baffled. By the way, my wife and I did not imbibe on this New Years Eve, so we were completely sober during this incident.

Amber Colored Object/Light Spotted In The Sky Over Tucson Arizona

Greetings Mr. Vike, my wife and I were driving from my parent's house around 10:20 p.m., going west down I-10 in Tucson, AZ, when we noticed one of the bright amber colored globes that was mentioned in a previous post from earlier tonight.

The light/object was moving south along the east side of 1-10, very slowly. It was relatively close to us, close enough to notice that there were no other lights on the object (such as tail lights, police spot lights) and it didn't make a sound. (No jet or prop noises.)

It had a glow like a vacuum tube, or an antique light bulb, and moved smoothly, it didn't jiggle or move in any sort of erratic way. Also, as it moved further away, one could almost mistaken it for a star.

It moved in front of some clouds a few times, though and, as far as I could tell, it followed along 1-10, and disappeared into the distance. (It didn't "fly into space" or anything,  and just moved far enough out to not be seen with the naked eye.)

I've never seen anything like this, in all the time that I've been into space and astronomy, and I consider myself a very staunch skeptic. It's possible that the object could've been a lantern, but, the light it was giving off was too "manufactured", I guess would be the word. It didn't glow like a flame.

I wasn't going to say anything, until I became curious about anyone else seeing what I had seen. I found this sight, and noticed someone had taken a picture of whatever it was in the sky, so, I felt I had to say something. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Bright Amber Boomerang Shaped UFO Flew Over Tucson Arizona

Fast Moving Star Like Objects In The Sky Over Tucson Arizona

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Facing west/south-west I was looking at Orion and saw a "star" moving quickly to the left (towards Sirius). I didn't notice it until it was directly under Orion's belt, it was out of my line-of-sight just as it passed under Sirius.

It moved faster than what I've seen satellites move through the sky, but there was no tail or streak. I kept observing Orion intently for several more minutes and right at 5:20 a.m. (AZ Time) another object seemed to appear right under Orion's belt.

As I was definitely watching for one, it is confusing that I did not observe the "star" when (or if) it was to the right of Orion's belt. This one traveled the exact same path, to the left, under Sirius, and seemed to be just as fast. They took less than one and a half seconds to travel from the right-most star of Orion's belt to underneath Sirius.

4 Glowing Lights In The Sky Over Tucson Arizona

Time:  Evening.

Hi, we're here in Tucson Arizona. Halloween night my husband and I saw 4 glowing orbs, very large just floating in the sky. Then they would flash and one at a time and they shot down into the mountains. Very strange indeed.

We felt like we just saw a UFO. It was definitely unidentified, it was flying and it appeared to be a big object. My 3 kids also witnessed it with us, they were a little nervous and asking, "What is that?" Thanks for letting me share.

Orange Colored Object Made Unusual Maneuvers Over Tucson Arizona

Hello Brian, I was looking on the internet to see if there were any sightings on what I and my friend saw last night around 8:30 p.m. in the skies over Tucson.

There were 2 sightings actually.

We were out looking for satellites streaking across the sky as we do every night. I noticed a bright light that faded very fast.

It was orange(ish) color, but I had my doubts as it seemed to be pulsating twice then disappearing as it traveled slowly northwest.

We saw it again, and that is when a second one, right above us pulsated. It looked like a normal dim star at first. 

It was completely still, but it kept turning very bright for a few seconds. I would compare it to seeing the brightest star in the sky and then it would dim quickly.

The strange part is that suddenly, it began to move slowly, growing very bright and dim. It would then stop and almost masquerade as star, mixing in to some of the constellations.

The strange thing is that it was not moving in one steady line. It would change directions. 

It was incredible to watch, especially when it began to speed up, slow down, stop, pulse and then move in unpredictable patterns.

It still was northbound, but it would move to the left, and then the right after it stopped, still shining light down (it almost seemed like it was shining it to us). 

Eventually, it would suddenly disappear, and then come back. It was a good 15 minutes or so before we lost it in the horizon. I wanted so much to get a video of it, but my camera would not grab anything in the dark skies.

I just wanted to share this, as this was something I shared right after we saw this with my friends on Facebook last night. Yours is the first site I found with any reference with the same date and nearby area as we are south of you.

Good luck in finding others who may have seen it. Anyone sitting outside around the time we saw it would not have missed it, it was brighter than the brightest star , and then fade away to a normal colored star, still with a slight orange color to it.

White Colored Object Changes To A Bright Green With Tail Seen Between Tucson And Florence Arizona

Hi Brian, my boyfriend and I were coming home to Florence from Tucson and we were on Hwy 79. I'm guessing it was about 9:30pm? I was driving and happened to look up and saw what I thought was maybe a helicopter with a strobe light to the right of the windshield.

 

It was a very bright white light and it was low on the horizon slowly coming across the windshield. The next thing I knew the light fizzled out and there was this bright greenish colored light/tail and it went on to shine for about 10-15 seconds before it went out.

 

I have never seen anything like that before and am curious to see who else may have seen it that night.

Green Lights Reported On Two Separate Dates Over Tucson Arizona

 

Date:  September 2011 and December 2011.

I have seen this green light twice in past four months. The first time was mid- September in 2011 in Tucson, Arizona and it moved in the eastern sky from north to south.

The second sighting was two weeks ago in Tucson, AZ in the northern sky moving west to east.

Both times there seemed to be some dissonance energetically occurring at the time.

Tucson, Arizona Object Explodes

Time: 9:20 p.m.

Duration of event: 3-4 seconds.
Number of witnesses: 3
Shape of object: Oval.

On the above date and time I was sitting with my Husband and daughter in the living room area, and watching a movie. I was seated in a chair that faces South-West, while my husband and daughter were seated in chairs facing approx. North. Within the living room is a large sliding glass door that allows exit to the backyard area. The door also faces South-West and overlooks the Tucson mountains with an unimpeded view since there are no homes in that area adjacent our home.

I turned away from the Television and glanced out through the sliding glass door. My attention was immediately drawn to an object approx 200 to 300 feet Southwest of our backyard. Although I don’t remember seeing the object moving at that point, I got the impression that it was moving South to North.
The object was complete with two (2) red lights, (non-strobing) one in the front and one in the rear. Although it was dark out I got the impression that the shape of the object was oval. I estimate its altitude at approx. 150-200 feet.

Holding my hand stretched out in front of me, with fingers pointing up, I estimate that from light to light, the distance between these two lights would have spanned my hand from little finger to thumb. As I watched and only a second or two later the object appeared to “explode” with a blinding white light, (the size of the explosion would be about the size of a pie plate held at arms length) the object then accelerated at an unbelievable rate of speed and departed, parallel to the ground, in a Northerly direction.

There was no noise at any time emitted from this object, nor when it "exploded". Because neither my husband nor daughter was looking in that direction, neither saw the object. I alerted them to the object and we all ran outside looking for any sign of it. After about 10 minutes of looking, we all three gave up and returned to the living room. Just as we began to sit down once again, my husband stated that he heard the sounds of helicopters coming in. All of us went to the back yard once again and watched as two helicopters, moving from the North-west and proceeding in a South-east direction.

My husband who is former Air Force identified these helicopters as military types. Although it was dark and the outlines of the choppers were indistinct they were both about the size of Blackhawks, maybe larger.

We could see that as the Helicopters approached in tandem, they flew directly over the area where I witnessed the object “explode” The helicopters were moving very slowly (estimated speed of perhaps 50 miles per hour) and I would estimate their altitude at 200-300 feet. They proceeded to pass our house just to the South and continued flying South-east. Although there is much military air-traffic in this area, and we have witnessed many helicopters in flight, we have never seen them fly this route, nor at this slow of speed, especially during the night.

Tucson, Arizona Unknown Lights And The Military

Location of Sighting: Near Alvernon Rd by Davis Monthan Air Force Base.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 4
Shape of objects: Oval shape.

Full Description of event/sighting: A friend and I saw 4 objects hovering in the sky over Tucson, Arizona. The objects were oval shaped, bright, white lights. They didn't seem to be forming any specific type of pattern. It was totally amazing! I have never seen anything like that.

At one point two of the lights just tuned off and they appeared to be gone. Within seconds the lights turned on again and they were back. Shortly after, the same two lights turned off again and never turned back on. Then the third light turned off and finally the fourth light turned off and they were gone.

About 45 minutes later, we saw a flashing red light flying the perimeter of that same area. This flashing red light was just going around circling the area where my friend and I saw the 4 objects. My friend seems to think that was the military checking out the area because they probably spotted the 4 objects on radar.

I wish I knew more about this stuff. I was a total non-believer until yesterday. Now, I want to see more! I wonder if anyone else saw these lights and/or recorded them.

Towards Tucson, Arizona Unknown Light Makes Strange Maneuvers (UFO)

Hello Brian, My name is (name removed), I currently live in Phoenix right now as I just moved here from San Diego. Ummm I'm a huge supporter and a fan you can say in researching UFO's. I came across your pictures for the lights over Phoenix. Now I want to say that I've grown up all my life around an air force base so I really know what alot of aircraft sound and look like not to mention how they move.

Well on May 2nd at 2:31 precisely I glanced out my window to open it up because it is hot out here. When I opened it up I saw a bright light in the sky, similar to how bright a planet gets, the only thing is that it started moving left then slowly came to a stop and immediately changed directions and went right then slowly came to a stop. Oh and I marked the moving of it on top of the house next door and it was really moving and fast. At even one point it zipped straight up then down. Just making impossible maneuvers in the sky. I decided to stay up as long as I could to watch it because I was very amazed and baffled. This went on until about 4:20 to 4:30 when I finally fell asleep. So if it was anything I accounted for 2 hours of it's maneuvers and I wasn't the only one to see it. I woke my girlfriend up and she was in awe by it as well. I would say it was to the southeast towards Tucson.

Now I would like to say that this is the end of my story, but the weird thing is that the very next day I looked in the whole sky at 12 (midnight) at night and nothing was there. Around 2:30 again there it was and I had just some feeling and there it was. It was not doing the same thing, but moving faster and more agile and alot more movement. Now by the scale that I calculated and I mean a good guesstimate would say that if it was really that far away and the distance it was moving across the sky, then it was doing that in a very great speed over a huge distance. Now I don't have a video camera, but I wish I did so I could account for this, but I will have one and I'm going to try to catch it again. But you see I doubt that I will see it 3 days in a row. Then again I didn't think I would see it 2 days in a row. Now airplanes go over my house constantly, so no commercial plane. Oh and there was no planes or anything else in the sky those 2 nights and usually there is. One more thing, today I saw 3 F-16's today taking off and going towards the west, but they slightly started turning to the south so alot of weird activity going on. I'm sorry I don't have refutable evidence, but I will. Thank you and please get back.

Tucson, Arizona And San Diego Major UFO Sightings

Preface it to say, I sent this information in to a web site - which was not legitimate. I am trying again.

No 1.

I just want to let you know that my entire family saw several UFO's in the late 1940's. I'm not sure of the timing, but we lived in Tucson, Arizona. My step-dad was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB at the time. My sisters and brothers and mother were out sitting on the front porch one afternoon. We heard a "Swoosh" sound and then two oval shaped objects went down our street at such a speed. The only sound was the "swoosh." The next thing we knew, two AF/jets were flying over our house at a very high speed with the noise deafening. I believe at that time there were Aerial Attack sirens in the city, and they were also blaring. It seemed as though the UFO's were rotating clock-wise as they were going. Although most of it was a blur... I felt they were rotating. The entire neighborhood was either out prior, or after the initial sounds were heard. I believe the AFB told the newspapers that they were practicing
breaking the sound barrier, and that was what everyone saw. Hmmmm. Anyway, being just a child, I was not old enough to make a lot of noise. I just know that I saw something. Our entire neighborhood saw something. For whatever it is worth!

In the early 1970's my husband and two sons were returning from a trip to Tucson late at night. As we started up the mountain grade from the valley, going into and toward San Diego, CA. We, husband and I spotted a spotlight in the distance. There was very little traffic and so we enjoyed playing "what is it!" The trip up the grade and during the time it took us to get up the hill to the spot where we saw "something!" The object moved vertically up and down, one time going out of our view. We continued to watch the object for at least one hour or perhaps more. It never left the area, just fluctuated between very high in the sky to almost touching the mountain tops. When we arrived at the destination where the object was, It was still stationary, hanging in the middle of the sky not touching anything - but very, very bright. No sound, just hanging there. I tried to watch it to see what it would do. Took pictures with the camera (nothing turned out) while I could I watched but it never moved from that one spot. Eventually cloud cover met us, San Diego - we lost sight of the object.

The object was probably half of a football field in the middle, seemed to be flat long - but through the long part of the needle, in the middle was where the
bright light came from. Kind of like an AWL, but with the points at both end - going through the middle.
