Garrettsville, Ohio A Bright Orange Slow Moving Mass

Posted: September 10, 2008

Time: Approx: 8:00 - 8:30 p.m.

I was in Garrettsville, OH this weekend at Nelson Ledges Quarry and park. We just got done watching Peter Rowan and Tony Rice play. It had to have been about 8:00 or 8:30 pm. I looked over see what this couple was looking at and sure enough it was this bright orange, and very slow moving mass in the sky. I will say it did look like it had a tail at first, which slowly disappeared, but the larger mass did not do the same. Everyone watched in wonder, and I am still wondering what this was. I saw something very similar at the end of August as well. Both times these masses would have been moving north to south…any ideas?

Thank you to the witness for their report.
