1/11/13,. here in Northern Idaho we saw a bright light with a green tail. It looked like it exploded before it hit the ground, even had a sonic boom, the only news feed I can find is on Spokesman Review (http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2013/jan/11/agency-flash-noise-over-rockford-was-meteor/) for Washington, meteor?
What metal or chemical would burn off in our atmosphere to show a beautiful green?
The Vike Factor Note: Here is a page that can describe what causes the different colors a meteor gives off. This comes from the “American Meteor Society’s webpage”: http://www.amsmeteors.org/fireballs/faqf/#5
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
Also, please feel free to send in your sightings that have happened years ago. So many of these older sightings are nothing short of amazing.
