Hi, I saw the same thing at Beaverton Oregon. Tonight around 8:55 p.m. pacific time a bright object fell between Big Dipper and North Star.
It blew up like a fireball in the end .

I am in Nashville and I let my dog out about 10 mins ago (2:15 am cst) and looked up and saw a bright orange, almost looked like a fireball, shoot from upper left and travelled down towards the right. It was odd because it is cloudy and I have never seen a shooting star in front of clouds before nor have I seen one that looked orange. Have no idea what it was.
I live in upstate NY and election night of 2012 my husband and daughter were driving home after a day of work/school. It was just about dusk when we noticed a large bluish light falling from the sky. There was no noise and we could not figure out what it could have been. We arrived home a few moments later and while unlocking our door we noticed a big bright white luminescent light coming from the sky on the south of our property. We decided to wait and watch it. It approached us slowly at a very low altitude. At this point it is pitch black out. It slowly flew above us at a very low altitude and made absolutely no noise what so ever. I can tell you that the front of this object was rounded with a bright luminescent light coming from the inside. The rest of it was triangulat shaped with a goldish light on each triangular tip and a bright red light underneath in the direct middle. It was an amazing site. We went into the house after watching it disappear down the sky. We were in complete awe. About 10-15 min later we heard helicopters and it was loud. We looked outside to find 2 huge military helicopters flying low over our property with red lights. They left also after about 30 min. I feel as though everything we witnessed that night was tied together. I would like to know if anyone else may have witnessed what we did on the same night near our area. We reside in columbia county.
