Brian, I live in New Lenox IL, south of Chicago. Saw one bright orange light vehicle August 11, 2012 at about 9:00 p.m. Object was moving from the east going west very low. No sound and no other lights, but the orange in the front of what appeared to be some type of craft.
I could see an outline of a craft in back of the light, but without any addition lights the craft was pitch dark and hard to see. My wife and daughter also saw the same thing.
