Time: Before midnight.
Just before midnight on New Year's Eve 2012, I spotted large round orangey/reddish lights flying towards me (in West Valley) (coming from South.)
There was no motor sound like a plane or helicopter, it seemed to float across the sky.
Then it changed direction and with speed went up, up and out of the atmosphere and disappeared in a blink.

Wife and I both saw this as well and neither of us thought it was a plane or helicopter. To big and close for a plane to stop for that long or to maneuver laterally so fast. No noise to indicate helicopter and to fast for a helicopter. Hopefully it is military, because I want that on my side.
