Meteor Seen From Exit 7 Tollbooth New Jersey Turnpike

Date: August 3, 2008
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

My girlfriend and I saw this object, as well as the driver in front of me, at the Exit 7 tollbooth on the NJ Turnpike. We're both avid meteor shower watchers, and it didn't strike us as anything other than a meteoric fireball, although much more intensely brilliant than usual.

The object was only visible for less than three seconds, and "fizzled out" before it had crossed the sky, very characteristic of a meteoric fireball. Still, it was a really impressive display.
