I too witness reddish orange lights in formation last night on January 5, 2013 around 9:00 p.m. when I was on my to work.
They were hovering in one area then I notice 3 of the lights move horizontally, but not at the same time.
Then 3 of the lights disappeared (at separate times) then reappeared. It was strange.
People were pulling over to take pictures and video with their camera phones.
This happened in West Palm Beach Florida, on Haverhill Rd. and Belvedere Rd. at approximately 9:05. I posted it on my Facebook page
