Hi again Brian, these are the pictures of the ISS and STS-124 docked on the last mission. Taken June 8, 2008 at 9:33am EST, with a fairly low-res Sony Mavica w/10x zoom, so spectacular, they are not. But I feel it gives a comparison of other objects photographed in the sky. If one zooms in on the first picture, you can make out the shape of the solar panels through the pixels.
Certainly a much longer lens is in order. I waited at least two years to attempt a shot, getting clear weather, and a high pass with them docked together isn't always possible. Shame I didn't have a camera the night the Shuttle/ISS gave us the plasma light show directly overhead.
I'll be keeping my eyes toward the sky.
