Hi. Just saw multiple (6-8) glowing orange lights off Willamette overlook this evening around 10:50pm on April 20, 2012. Searched internet for explanation. Didn't find anything reported.
Hi, I'm kind of freaking out but excited that I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I got off work tonight May 14th, 2012 at around 9:35pm and was driving north on Albina street in North Portland, when to my left up ahead, I saw a very bright, big orange light. I knew it wasn't a star, and it couldn't be a plane, it was much too big and too bright. I continued to dive norh and pulled over a few times to look at it and try to keep it in view. It was moving in the opposite directon as me so it was pretty hard to keep up with it. Suddely, it started to move a lot faster and gained altitude until it literally disappeared.I looked no bigger than a distant star when I last saw it, then I lost it. It was pretty amazing. I'm trying to find more info as to what it could have been.

My husband and I just saw 6 big, bright orange lights over the Corbett area, 22 miles east of Portland, OR, this evening, September 2, 2012 around 9:30pm. We were driving east. They looked like they were in some kind of formation that looked like a constellation. At first I thought that they were planes coming into PDX, but too close together. But as I got a clearer look coming out from the trees that lined the road, I could see that they were bright orange, with no blinking lights. Then they looked like they were flying 2 by 2, one right over the other until they started disappearing. We stopped on the side of the road and watched them until they slowly, one by one disappeared like a tiny star, then gone. They looked like they were getting closer to us, as they were moving in a northwesterly direction. We could hear no sound with the window down. We had never seen anything like this before.
Last night at midnight (1-1-14) I too saw about 6 orange lights coming from the north traveling south. They were in formation, one behind the other but had some distance between them. There was no sound or blinking lights. As they got closer to me they just vanished. Since last night I have heard others also state they saw the same thing.
Last night on 1-1-14, I saw 6 bright white lights with red in them traveling from North to South over Beaverton, Oregon. There was no sound. They were traveling in a line, one in front of the other but with some distance between them. When they started to get closer to me, they just vanished. I know they were not planes or helicopters. Others have also told me they saw them and have no idea what they were.
