My son Jonathan, and his grandparents spotted a slow moving fireball in the sky over Greenwood, South Carolina about 11:15 p.m. on July 15, 2012.
We have been searching for any reports or explanations and found this site. His description is very similar to those posted here. It wasn't a plane, balloon or anything obvious.
We have had a few storms here, but this was a clear night. It seemed to glow like fire and disappeared after going behind a tree. It never made a noise. Any ideas?
