Stationary Orange Object/UFO In The Sky Over San Jose California

Date:  December 4, 2014
Time:  Approx: 7:30 p.m.

Last night around 7:30 or so, I saw something similar to this. I was on Almaden and Humboldt in San Jose when I saw it.

It was a stationary orange orb looking thing, it was pretty big. It was pretty high up in the sky.

I thought it was a plane or something, but it never seemed to move. Did anyone else see it?

If anyone has had a UFO/UFOs sighting, please send me an email at sighting@telus.net or fill out the online UFO report form at http://sightings1.yolasite.com/ with details of what you saw.

Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

Stationary White Object Shrinks Changes Color From White Orange Red Over Amarillo Texas

Date:  September 25, 2014
Time:  8:00 p.m.

On September 25, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. I witnessed a white object that seem to sit still for approximately 30 minutes, but then it started shrinking at a rapid rate as if it was moving away at a fast pace and in the process of doing so, it changed colors from white to orange to red as it got smaller until it was no longer visible.

From the time it started getting smaller and changing colors until it was no longer visible it took about 10 minutes! Please respond if you can give me any insight as to what it was.

If anyone has witnessed the lights/objects, please send me an email with details of what you saw. Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

White Teardrop Shaped Object Stationary In The Sky Seen Driving From Ft. Myers To Sarasota Florida

Date:  January 14, 2013
Time:  Approx: 5:45 p.m.

Dear Brian, I found you on line trying to see if anyone reported the light I saw tonight over the Gulf of Mexico around dusk.

Late this afternoon, Monday, January 14, 2013 around 5:45 p.m. EST, I was driving north on I-75 towards Sarasota, Florida from Ft. Myers. The Gulf was to my left by about 10 miles.

Off to my left, a strange white light was just hanging in the sky like a a huge tear drop, fat at the bottom and narrow at top. I took pictures of it, but the sky was still too light for it to show up on my digital camera.

It didn't move, imagine a meteorite falling from the sky, but staying suspended.

But what is very strange to my sighting is that on my way back to Ft. Myers my friend texted me to report that she and friends saw a spiral light show in the sky in Ft. Myers coming out of church around 9:00 p.m. Ft. Myers is 1 1/2 hours south of Sarasota.

My friend called the police to report it, but there were no other reports at that point.

Are you hearing anything from this area? What is going on?

Additional Information:
The below follow-up was done by a fellow who is helping me out. It is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me, the atmosphere was dry and around 80 degrees. The sky was perfectly clear except the sun was beginning to set, so of course it was hues of pink and amber and the bright, white light object in the horizon appeared so strange.

It was off in the distance, to the left of me,  to the far right of the sun where there sky was still light, but becoming gray from sunset.

It looked like an extended tear drop or a falling star that just remained suspended fat at the bottom and very skinny as it extended upward.

I was driving north bound about 75 miles per hour and within 10 minutes I was past it and could no longer view it, but as I said I did try to take pictures of it.

I expected to see cars driving south bound pulled off the the road taking pictures but I didn't see any.

I would think people on the Gulf of Mexico beach watching the sunset to have reported this thing in the sky. Maybe the Coast Guard received "sightings?"

I will forward your response to my friend.

Shiny Green Cigar Shaped UFO Stationary Over Gallipolis Ferry On The Ohio River West Virginia

Date:  Summer of 1966
Time:  Evening.

Hello, my sister and I were teenagers and visiting our grandparents in the summer and had attended a dance at the Gallipolis ferry on the Ohio River.

In the clear evening sky was a cigar shaped shiny green object that didn't move.

It was not like anything else in the sky and stayed there for the entire evening. It was still there when we drove home that night in the country.

My sister and I both remember it quite clearly and though we weren't aware of all the rumors of UFOs, concluded that was what it was.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Bright Stationary Light Spotted At Colorado And New Hampshire USA

Date:  Since November 2011
Time:  Evenings.

My husband and I have been seeing the same bright stationary ball since November 2011. We lived in Colorado, USA when we first noticed it.

Now we live in New Hampshire,USA and we can still spot it.

We have no idea what it is. It's been suggested that it is a satellite, a comet, a planet or space junk. Be believe it's none of the above. What ever it is, it's big.

Don't have a telescope to track it properly and get measurements to see if its getting bigger (moving closer) or smaller or even moving at all. Let us know if you guys get any sort of information.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Two Stationary Bright White Lights Seen Over Holyoke Massachusetts

Date:  March 11, 2012
Time:  Approx: 11:00 p.m.

A guy I know who doesn't have internet access, told me he saw two stationary bright white lights in the northern sky and viewed from Holyoke MA. On the night of 3-11-12 approximately 11:00 p.m. he said it was definitely not a plane.

Might possibly have been a helicopter, but there was no movement or sound. He has told me in the past, he's seen satellites go by at night. We didn't see anything reported in the local news about it, but he said another young woman we know saw the lights.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Stationary Chrome Sphere UFO Seen From Commercial Flight Over Houston Texas

Date:  March 16, 2000
Time:  9:05 a.m.

On 03-16-2000 (9:05 a.m.), I saw a stationary chrome sphere over Houston, Texas. I was on a commercial flight in route to Cancun from George Bush IAH.

We were in the steep initial climb as I looked downward from my window and spotted a smaller (maybe 10 foot diameter) chrome ball perched above a cloud.

I only spotted this object for about 2-3 seconds before clouds blocked my view and we moved past. I really tried to make rational sense of what I had seen, but have been unable to. I have never seen anything paranormal before or since.

NASA has a department for these sort of issues, but has refused to return my calls.

Stationary UFO Finally Moves Off Over Salem Arkansas

Date:  June 2002
Time:  Between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was at a rural baseball park watching my son play ball. The game started late and all other games were over and park was dark except son's game. I was in the parking lot watching the game, and I was only person in the lot.

It was hot and the windows were down in my car. I looked up and to the west and there was a really bright object just sitting up in the air, making no sound. I did not observe this object for a few seconds or minutes. This object was there for 2 and half hours! The object stayed for the rest of the ballgame.

The light was so bright you could not look at it for very long. I would watch it out the corner of my eye and straight on for as long as possible. This object was quite low could not have been star, moon, airplane or anything like that. When it would move, it "floated" and I have never seen anything in the sky that moved like this object did.

After watching it for an hour, I could make out some type of moving motion around the craft, very hard to explain. The minute the game was over I thought, "great other people will see it", but as soon as the last pitch was thrown it floated off to the west at a really slow rate of speed.

I have never seen anything paranormal before and I am not one to "see things", I was so shocked I could not sleep that night and a few after. This maybe will sound crazy, but I got the feeling they were "watching" the game and I had a feeling that I have never had before, that this craft was not from this world.

Believe me, I know how it sounds, but this was a 2 hours of watching the craft. I was 30 miles from my home and at that time had no cell phone. I felt like I had to speak up for all the people who are made fun of for telling the truth.

Stationary Object Starts To Move Over Middletown New Jersey

Date: January 13, 2011
Time: Approx: 11:45 p.m.

I was standing outside at approximately 1145 pm., smoking a cigar. I always look up at the sky and I saw a small object staying stationary. The lights were quick at turning off and on. It wasn't a plane, nor a helicopter. It was so strange that I stood there for three minutes and it didn’t move.

I went back in my house and grabbed my coat and a small pair of binoculars. It had moved to the left. At this time it stopped flickering and was really bright white. I followed it with my binoculars and it disappeared behind the trees. It looked like a bright planet, but was moving up and down and left to right. So strange!

I watch ancient aliens all the time and thought I was crazy, so I decided to Google UFO in New Jersey on 1/13/2013 and saw your post.

This was in Middletown, New Jersey, which is central New Jersey.

Stationary Red Light Over King's Island In Mason Ohio

Date: September 19, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

We observed a (stationary) red light in the sky tonight about 9:00pm when we were at King's Island in Mason, Ohio. We watched the International Space Station about 2-3 weeks ago and when we saw this red light, we couldn't figure out what it could be, so I got online to try to find the answer. What was it?

Bright Stationary Golden Orange UFO Over West San Jose California

Date: January 6, 2010
Time: 11:30 p.m.

Did anyone report seeing a very bright stationary golden orange light in West San Jose CA tonight?

This thing was dimensional, it had depth to it and appeared to be backlit, but there was definitely no light source shining up at it from behind.

It caught my eye as my husband and I were driving home after exiting Hwy 280 at Bird Avenue and heading toward Willow Glen. I assumed it was a plane in a holding pattern at first, but quickly realized that it couldn't be because it appeared to be square shaped. So we made a u-turn and stopped the car to stare at it, and when we were closer to it, it seemed to have a more of a pointed star-like outline to it (although not in a perfectly symmetrical way).

Eventually it began blinking out and then rapidly moving upward on a diagonal.

It was very unique looking and distinctly bright and golden-orange in color.

If it had stayed low I would have written it off as some strange promotional light projection by a tech company in the valley, but the fact that it blinked and began moving so far away so rapidly eliminated that possibility.

I called 211 (our non-emergency community hotline) the lines were so backed up it went to voicemail, and I didn't leave a message. I was more interested in knowing if anyone else had reported the strange light in sky tonight.

As soon as I arrived home I googled "San Jose UFO sighting" but didn't see any postings from tonight. Then I found a posting on your sight from someone in San Jose a few days back.

So I am curious if anyone reported this sighting to you. It occurred at approximately 11:30pm on Wednesday 1/6/10 in West San Jose.

Please advise.

Thanks very much for your time.

Atascadero, California A Bright Stationary Light

Posted: March 21, 2009

Date: February 9, 2009
Time: 8:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Round.
Weather Conditions: Clear.

Description: I saw a bright stationary light over the coast off Morro Bay, CA. I checked on it over the course of a half hour and it remained until the last time I checked at 8:30 pm then disappeared. It was a bright light about 5 times the size of a star but had the same characteristics. The curious thing was that I saw this same thing in the same spot about a year ago. The only difference was that last time it moved back and forth and pulsated.

Nassau County, Long Island, New York Stationary Cone Shaped UFO

Posted: November 25, 2008

Date: Various days in November 2008
Time: Between 6:30 and 7:15 p.m.

Location: Long Island Expressway[LIE] (I-495) near exit 39, east bound side.
Shape of Object: bright white light shaped light a cone.
Number of objects: 1 - 5

The encounter begins about two weeks ago, not long after the encounter I previously described. I started taking the LIE home instead of the Parkway because of the rash of bad traffic recently and because I really didn't want to be in a position to be staring up at the sky while parked in traffic. The three lighted thing, the triangle thing, seeing it really kind of bugged me.

So around November 5th, I was heading home on the LIE and as I approached exit 39, I could see out over a large portion of land. Now since Flight 800 and September 11th, the FAA has done a lot to change flight patterns around "New York Central" and these days, it seems like the standard approach vector for airplanes to JFK is pretty much in line with the path of the LIE - like basically above it - while the standard approach for LaGuardia places planes a bit north of in-line with the LIE.

Looking out to the south, I saw a cone shaped white light that seemed stationary. Traffic was slow moving, I had plenty of time to stare at it. I assumed it was either the light atop a tower or approach lights from an airplane or helicopter.

The next night, a Friday, I looked and the light wasn't there. I assumed that meant it wasn't the light on a tower and that it must have been a police helicopter or something.

The following Monday night, I looked again. The light was back. This time, the glowing white cone seemed to wobble at the pointy end (which pointed at the ground) almost like a top wobbles as it spins before it falls down. Traffic was again moving slow ad I was able to observe it for a relatively long period of time as traffic crept from the west side of exit 39 all the way to exit 40.

I was off the next day but, Wednesday of that week I was again headed home. I was getting really curious about this light because I had seen it in the same spot several times and the last time I had seen it, it was doing things that the spotlight on the front of a police helicopter cant do.

As I approached exit 39, I saw the light again. This time I pulled over. I sat there watching it for about 5 minutes before the light did something that a helicopter (and most aircraft in general) cannot do - it zipped off at unrealistic speed in a southerly directly, so fast that in a second or two the light was completely gone.

So I'm a Long Islander. We're used to strange things happening. Many years ago, some guy here guy arrested for conspiring to poison people with a radio-isotope because he felt they were hiding "alien secrets". This past summer we had the "Montauk Monster". There's a whole mythology surrounding Montauk and something called "The Montauk Project" and two years ago, the local papers ran stories about "strange clouds" in Montauk. In the early 1990's, there were all these urban legends and rumors of a UFO crashing into South Haven Park and other rumors of a UFO crashing into Moriches Bay. We've heard it all here, not much will surprise a seasoned Long Islander. This light surprised me. This light surprised me more than the strange flying triangle thing I had seen on the Parkway.

So each time I saw this light, it was between 6:30 and 7:15 at night. It was always in the same general location. I worked remotely for the remainder of that week but, two nights ago I was driving home and saw a series of three or four (I'm not sure if the 4th was a trick of the eye or something I actually saw) single white lights descending from the sky and leveling off in a way that reminded me of a diver entering the water and returning to the surface. These lights were spaced out and seemed to descend in a semi-circle. There was what I would call a significant distance between each of these lights and a potential 4th light may have appeared to the far right but, I was too busy watching the road and the sky.

As these lights leveled off, they headed south across the LIE. And as I continued, I realized I was near exit 39. So again I pulled over and this time I got out of the car and watched these lights (they were to the east of me) travel across the highway. Looking south, I saw the cone shaped white light in about the same spot it had previously been. The three or so small lights that I had watched fall from the sky were completely different in color, intensity and shape (they were round and almost like a... well, a not bright white color). The three small lights pulled close together and seemed to spin around each other as they headed south-west - almost like three jets swirling around each other in an advanced barrel roll type maneuver.

The three small lights seemed to pass south of the bright white cone before they rapidly changed direction and headed east-south-east. A moment later, the cone shot off at about a 15 degree incline to the south-east rapidly disappearing from sight.

Then last night as I traveled home, at about 7:10pm, I passed exit 39 and saw the small lights dancing across the sky heading south. Their speed was inconsistent and at one point one of them seemed to make a 90 degree turn. I did not see the white cone light.

I cannot tell you if these things made any noise. Traffic, rush hour traffic which seems to last from 4:30pm - 7:30pm on the LIE, is very loud.

As much as I really don't want to see anything like this in real life, I'm thinking of carrying my camera with me in my car. If I bring myself to do this, I will provide pictures if I see them again.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Roanoke, Virginia Aircraft Stationary At About 500 Feet ?

Posted: April 4, 2008

Date: April 4, 2008
Time: 11:15 p.m.

I saw the same thing today in Roanoke VA at 11:15pm. I seen the lights of an airplane and thought what's this? As I came closer to the plane I saw that it was indeed a plane like a 757 jumbo airliner with a large wingspan. It was pointed at a downward angle and it completely stationary in the sky and about 500 feet from the ground I'd say. Completely visible from the height it was at. I don't know what to think about this. Me and my wife both seen this and don't know what to do.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Tullahoma, Tennessee Orange Stationary UFO Suddenly Moves

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 7, 2007 Time: 9:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Tullahoma, Tennessee. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Round.

Full Description of event/sighting: Nothing fantastic, but something. My daughter came home around 9:30 pm and knowing my interest in UFO's, she told me that she was seeing a strange light in the sky. We walked out into my front yard and she pointed out a round, orangish light that was in the sky. At first I just thought it was a tower that I was not aware of, but I just could not think of anything in that area. The more I looked, the more curious I became, so I got into my car and was going to go and prove to myself it was just a light on a tower that we had somehow never seen before. I was driving on back roads which were tree lined, so it was very hard to try and keep track of where I saw the light. After driving for about 10 minutes, I could not find the light anymore so decided to turn around and come home. I turned around and after about a minute, I noticed a round orange light in the sky similar to what my daughter had pointed out to me. I could see it through my windshield. But then I thought it could not have been the same light as I was now going the opposite direction.

As I continued home, watching it, I then felt foolish as I now thought I was looking at Mars, as it was a round orangish light, not moving in the sky. I do not know where the planets are very well in the sky, but I knew this had to be a planet as it was round, seemingly far off and stationary. After watching it for about 3 or 4 minutes, thinking how good I could see "Mars" tonight, it started moving. I then stopped and watched it for another 3 or 4 minutes as it tracked in a straight line, headed over the town of Tullahoma. I thought it must be a plane and that maybe it just looked stationary as it was moving towards me before, but the more I thought about it, the more I knew that wasn't true. When it was stationary, it always remained the same size. It had no blinking lights. It did not do any amazing acrobatics in the sky and it was too far to hear any noise. Again, nothing great, but it was defiantly unusual and thought if anyone else had seen anything that night this may give some insight to where it traveled.

Sorry if it was a waste of your time as I know you get much better reports then this and are a very busy person. My daughter also pays attention more because a few years ago, her mother and she had seen a very strange, stationary, bright white light above some high power lines. They were scared when they came home and when I got there to see for myself, the lights were gone so I have no verification, just what my wife and daughter told me.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Columbia, South Carolina Object In A Stationary Position

Posted: January 18, 2008

Date: July 28, 2006 Time: 10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Downtown Columbia SC. Number of witnesses: 7 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Round

Full Description of event/sighting: Not the first time I or this group has seen this object. It's been in our skies off and on for about two months now in varying locations. It appears as a "star" or "planet" until you try to figure out which one it is. Then you realize nothing celestial is in that part of the sky. So best we can assess via binoculars is that this object appears to be able to maintain a stationary position for up to six hours. It appears as white light with closer inspection revealing red, green and sometimes blue flashing rotating lights around it. We have seen it low in the sky in the northwest, high in the sky in the northeast and high in the sky in the south. I have never seen it " just appear" or move. It is totally stationary and gives you the creeps when you realize it's there.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Looking From Wellfleet, Massachusetts A Bright Light Stationary

Posted: January 15, 2008

Date: January 25, 2006 Time: 10:15 p.m.

HBCC UFO Research Note: The name of the witness in this report has been changed by HBCC UFO Research.

Attached hereon is correspondence I had with my art teacher regarding a UFO like light he saw in the western sky looking from Wellfleet, Massachusetts (Cape Cod) During the week of January 25th 2006.

Mr. Fry claims to have been out walking his dog on Great Island at about 10:15 PM, when he observed a bright light standing still in the sky. A row of trees was between him and the light which kept 'going on and off' behind tree branches as he moved along a path to get a better view of it. When he got clear of the tree line the light had gone.

My immediate impression of Mr. Fry sighting was that it was an aircraft or perhaps the Coast Guard helicopter or Falcon either on a mission near Plymouth, Massachusetts or on base leg prior to turning on final. I used to see phenomenon such as that in Oklahoma City with airliners approaching Will Rogers Airport from the west. They would fly straight toward my position for five minutes before making a right turn onto final about seven miles away. While the aircraft flew towards me their landing light would appear to be hovering motionless. However it is about 30 miles across Cape Cod Bay from where Mr. Fry made his sighting. The only airports I know of would be Otis Air Force Base to Mr. Fry's left or 45 degrees southwest and Boston's Logan to Mr. Fry's right or 45 degrees northwest. Both locale's more than 40 miles distant.

I live about 15 miles south of Mr. Fry's vantage point. Been a resident of Cape Cod since 1987. Lived in this town for more than four years and although I've watched a lot of high flying aircraft going to-and-from Europe I never seen or heard of anything such as Mr. Fry described over Cape Cod Bay

So far Mr. Fry is the only person I know of that seen it.

Below is a short note from the eyewitness to the gentleman who related this report you read above.

Hi, The light that I saw in the sky was above the western horizon about 20 degrees. I was an avid student of astronomy and even made my own telescope. I know where Saturn was at that time of the evening around the 25th of January. Saturn was located on the eastern portion of the sky approaching the meridian and was a faint yellow color. I know it well. As I was facing west, Saturn was at my back. The light that I saw was many times brighter than Saturn. It was like an automobile light coming at you and about two blocks away. It was an interesting phenomenon and I have no idea what it could have been.

Thank you to both fellows for this report.

Bartlesville, Oklahoma Stationary Bright Light

Posted: January 2, 2008

Date: February 20, 2005 Time: 5:35 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Sphere.

Full Description of event/sighting: As I was riding in my car I saw a bright light just sitting about 3,000 feet up. I thought it was an early star at first. But then I noticed it was way to bright to be any star as it was to close and way to bright and was just sitting over Romana. I watched the object stay in the same place for at least ten minutes and it never moved or blinked. Then the light just dimmed out it just slowly went away and I never saw it there again.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Bay Minette, Alabama Daytime Light Sitting Stationary

Posted: January 2, 2008

Date: January 15, 2005 Time: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

Brian, Back on 1-15-05 I was on lunch break at my usual time of 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Bay Minette, Alabama. I have a spot that I usually go to and sit in the car. After finishing the usual fast food junk I started sky watching (something I do way too much) to pass the time until returning to work. After several minutes I spotted a light sitting stationary in the sky to my ENE about 75 degrees up. The object was hard to see with the naked eye.

Here is a wide angle view of the sky just after the sighting. The object is not in this photo and I include it only for reference. The yellow box represents the location of the object in the sky. After reaching in the back seat and grabbing my camera case I removed the camera and took the following picture.

This was taken with 10x optical zoom. The object being in the lower center of the photo. It appeared at least as high as the contrail it was next to. After taking this photo the object vanished. It appeared as a star in the day time to the naked eye. Just a point of light.

The wind was out of the north 5-10 mph.No sound was heard. Total time of sighting was around 30 seconds. That's about it.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Miller County, Missouri White Ball Is Stationary For 4 Hours In The Sky

Posted: January 1, 2008

Date: January 18, 2005 Time: Around 10:30 a.m.

To whom it may concern, A while back...I took photos of this white ball that I watched hover in the sky for about 4 hours. The reason I saw it was because I was watching for the B-2 bomber to fly over like it had done the 2 days before. It did fly over and this ball was there too.

I was wondering about it and typed in: "UFO Missouri" in Yahoo and found your website. In there I found a report from Miller Co. Mo. from January 18th. This person had seen the same thing I did. His pictures are the same as mine. He took pictures of the B-2 also and that white ball was in them. I don't think he saw that ball until he developed the film.

Anyway, here's my photo. You will have to hunt for it. It's a little white ball in the middle of the picture..but it shined like a mirror when I saw it outside.

Additional Information:

Hello back, I saw this thing in central Missouri in Miller county. I think it's Miller county! Where I house sat at, it's right where 3 county's come together.

Anyway, they live close to Dixon, Mo.

That's near Fort Leonard Wood.

Yes, the wind was blowing from the northeast to the southwest. Clouds were going past this. I've sat and thought about this. At first I thought it might be a weather balloon or maybe even a tethered radar balloon from the Fort...but it disappeared too fast. I was only in the house for a minute and I had been watching it for almost 4 hours.

No lights were on it and it was around 10:30 in the morning.

Yes..the sun did reflect off it even though it doesn't look like it in the picture.

Thank you to the witness for the report.
