Mt. Timpanogos, Provo, Utah A Large Spherical Object

Posted: January 14, 2008

Date: November 15, 2005 Time: 02:30

Location of Sighting: Mt. Timpanogos, Provo, UT. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Sphere.

Full Description of event/sighting: A climbing friend and I were making the final push to summit (11,750 feet) Mt. Timpanogos (Timp) in a pre-winter climb. We were about 1500 feet below the summit in a bowl with the summit to our left (south west).

Weather:

The weather was clear, not a cloud in the sky with a full canopy of stars.

Size:

As we hiked & talked I looked up at the stars and noticed a pulsating light to the north of the summit. The light came into better focus as we hiked up higher and we could see that it was a spherical object of large size (perhaps 50 yards across the middle or larger).

Color:

The sphere's color would alternate between red, blue, green, purple, orange etc. but, appeared to 'run' or 'change' the way an bubble of oil has a kaleidoscope of colors that seem to move around.

Movement:

The sphere moved in very fast, 90 degree angle turns in a zig-zag fashion. It appeared to both of us as if it were 'fluttering' like a butterfly flits around. It continued to move in this erratic pattern for 10+ minutes.

It finally began to quiet down its flittering about and began to move behind the summit in front of us.

We watched for it to appear on the other side (southeast) where it appeared shortly.

After coming out from behind the peak, the colors muted and didn't seem to change as much. The flittering ceased and the craft began to pick up speed as it headed east towards the horizon.

It quickly picked up speed in short distance and then shot to the horizon in a matter of seconds & thus, out of sight.

We guess that when we were about 1/2 mile at the furthest from the craft during the experience.

We didn't experience anything else that night. If you know of someone in the Utah area that deals with this type of sighting I'd be interested to talk to them.

Thank you.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.
