Date: July 12, 2012
Time: Evening.
I saw a large fireball in the sky that night as well. I was in South Haven, MI. I was with my son at the time. We came upon a couple a few minutes later who also witnessed the fireball.
It was a burning orange fireball with a tail. It was traveling east to west over Lake Michigan. It was visible for 15 to 20 seconds.
It "went out" low on the western horizon I think due to clouds. I'd like to hear if others witnessed this, thoughts on what it was.
