Abbeville, Mississippi 10 Or More Bright Orbs

Posted: February 17, 2008

Date: November 9, 2007 Time: 11:45 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3 Number of objects: 10 or more. Shape of objects: Bright "orbs". Weather Conditions: Fair, Some Clouds.

Description: About ten miles north of Oxford MS on Hwy 7 there is a town called Abbeville. Heading west out of Abbeville on County Road 108 for about 5 miles, you will dead end at a camping/boat launch area at Sardis Lake called Hurricane Landing. Looking on mapquest.com it is very easy to find this area and you can see exactly where we were. This past Friday Nov. 9th at around 11:45 PM, two friends and myself were at Hurricane Landing. Looking north across Sardis Lake, we noticed a very bright white star-like "orb" traveling west at a slow speed across the horizon at treetop level.

At first we thought it was just a plane or helicopter, but then we noticed how erratic it was flying. The object would speed up and slow down, go up and then fall very quickly and even instantly go backward without stopping first. The object would become very bright sometimes and almost instantly would become very dim alternating between bright white, red and green.

Sometimes the object seemed to rotate slightly in circles. All of this and at the same time still traveling in the westerly direction across the tree-line. As we kept watching this light go across the horizon, we noticed another one just like it appear out of nowhere back to the east where the first one had appeared. The second one was acting exactly like the first and was traveling in the same direction. This continued for at least 30 minutes, one after another appearing and traveling west along the tree-line to the other side of Sardis Lake.

Once one of the objects would make it all the way to the other side of the lake they started staying in that general area, growing bright and dim, moving around erratically. Some would disappear and reappear in a different place just to the left or right of where they were when they disappeared. We noticed a couple that seemed to be "chasing each other". They would head right at each other and one would drop down as the other went right over it. One in particular would be heading west very quickly and all of a sudden go very quickly back the other way. Sort of a back and forth motion.

At one point there were at least 5 or 6 "orbs" at one time in the air above the tree-line looking west across the lake from Hurricane Landing doing this "performance". Around midnight the sky started becoming very cloudy along the horizon and the lights were getting very hard to see right before we left.

TV/Radio Not that we are aware of.
