Time: Just past midnight.12/18/11
I was at a birthday party and I was speaking to my sister-in-law, when I saw a bluish object falling from the sky. It seemed to have been about 1 mile or so away from us.
I was searching the internet and saw your sighting and a similar story to mine, so decided to send in my own experience.

A brief burst of amber/hazy orange light illuminated the sky for less than 4 seconds over San Bernardino.It seemed to be over the 10 freeway.
After the brief burst,i went outside to check.In the sky there were two airplanes in opposite directions, though no where near the site. There appeared to be no trace of anything that could cause the flash.
