Time: Between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Hi, my wife and I were outside tonight heading to a neighbors house and saw something quite strange to us. It was a single red light aircraft heading from south to north over the north side of Chicago.
I am used to seeing many aircraft with us being so close to O'Hare airport, but this was flying at about the height a helicopter would be, but it was completely noiseless and completely, solid red.
We couldn't tell if the light was ringing the craft or beneath, but at that low height it seemed larger than any helicopter, but lower and smaller than the ordinary jets we see around here.
Both of us watched it approach, cross above us and continue northward with a very slight curve east toward Lake Michigan. There were other aircraft in their normal patterns in the sky at the time.
I did think to pull my cell phone and shot a couple of pictures at the very last minute because we thought it was headed directly toward a commercial jet, but it only registers as a dot with the jet as another dot.

I live in sheboygan,Wisconsin. 40 mi north of Milwaukee.so not to to far from chicago..and I prettt much seen same thing same night ..here's my story I wrote earlier in my phone notepad..
I saw a fireball looking object last night March 18, 2012 I'm thinking it was around 1030 pm. My girlfriend and I pulled up in front of our home and it just caught my eye. Up ahead in the sky in northern direction of me. Above i see a red/orangish round orb looking light..from a far distance. At first it looked like a ball of flame,but real bright..than it seemed to be getting closer and bigger.than I was thinking it was a plane and than a helicopter cuz at times It would get real bright like a bright white light.I than asked my girlfriend. look do you see that? wtf is that?..she was like omg what is that? ..she was thinking it was a metaroid coming towards the earth or somthing.. Than there was a split moment as it was hovering around..it looked as it was all red it was big and it jus looked like a big red orb I guess u can say..I don't know..it all jus seemed to happan in a little amount of time I didnt get look at it as long as I wish i had..and in the process I was trying to get it on video with my phone.but that didnt work out well and by the time I was getting the focous on my camera,the object in the sky was getting smaller and smaller and disappeared into the clouds. I jus couldn't belive my eyes..after it happaned. I said to my girlfriend I think we seen a ufo or somthing and i asked her Again,you seen that right..and she was all like no I didn't see nothing..but that how she jus wanted to forget about it,but I will never forget it beacause I know for a fact I seen something and it was not somthing Normal. I know it wasn't. It was there and i seen it.
