4 Large Bright Lights Chasing One Another Over Chicago Illinois

Date:  October 24, 2014
Time:  Evening.

Chicago, Illinois. Two nights ago, my husband and I saw the same thing. Four large bright lights chasing each other in a perfect circle, then meeting in the middle only to go back into forming a circle and chasing each other around the circle again.

This went on for over an hour. We sure would like to know what type of phenomenon this could have been. It's very interesting to see that so many have experienced the same phenomenon.

Vertical Streak Of Bright Glowing Orange Light Seen In The Sky From Chicago Illinois

Date:  September 20, 2014
Time:  Evening.

Just same the same exact vertical streak of bright orange light in the western sky, looking from Chicago. It was like someone slit the sky with a knife and the wound was glowing bright orange.

It did not move or fade in and out until it just faded away for good after about 10 minuets after we first saw it. The date was Saturday September 20, 2014.

Red Fireballs Seen In The Sky Over West Town Chicago Illinois (Video Footage)

 Date:  July 20, 2014
Time:  Approx: 1:30 a.m.

I am currently sitting on my rooftop patio it's about 1:30 a.m. in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago IL. and I notice a little red fireball in distance. As it slowly approaches me, it is at quite a low elevation at first, I thought it was a drone and someone was just playing around. However, the object was not a drone and then I started to record it's movement and the object ended up increasing it's elevation and the red light sort of disappeared.

Furthermore, I look out into the distance and I see another trailing red fireball approaching me again and again I recorded the object and it did the same thing as the first one. Therefore, I started looking in all directions into the sky.

Then I noticed another red fireball far out into the distance coming from the east passing downtown Chicago, however the object was to far away to capture on my iPhone. The first two fireballs I witnessed coming from the south. Here is video of the first two little fireballs.

Yellow Lights Seen Flying In The Sky Above South Chicago Heights Illinois

Time:  Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Today (2-3-2013) about 8:00 p.m. Lights flying west to east. Over Sauk Trail road.

Two lights I saw was in my back yard while parking my car and when I looked up, I was looking south.

Went from back yard to the front. As I was walking towards the front, I was only able to see one light. The lights were a yellow color. Nothing was blinking on the thing?

Just flying steady east.

Objects Falling From The Sky Over Chicago Illinois

Time:  Evening.

I saw your blog about the green light. I was at a park with my friends earlier this year. Maybe February and I was using Google sky map on my phone. We noticed a star next to Jupiter that didn't register on the app.
After 20 seconds it started moving. It was very slow at first, but when I started recording with my phone it came much closer, very fast, starting flashing red and white very brightly then bolted away into the black sky within seconds.

Mind you I live in Chicago which is very lit up. Literally just five minutes ago I was looking east towards lake Michigan while driving and saw a straight line of black smoke, and it appeared an object was falling.

It went lower and lower then the object and trail disappeared. No sound or light. Just fell and disappeared  creepy. Have you had any other sightings?

Flash Of Bright Blue Light Seen From Chicago Illinois

Hi, my name is (name removed). I was on my way home from Chicago right around 8:00 p.m. earlier on 12/20/2012. I saw the same exact thing you did from the turnpike.

I figured an electrical explosion at first, but the more I thought about what I had just saw, I realized it could not have been.

Fast Moving Green Flashing Light Descending Over Chicago Illinois

Hi, I saw your add on the internet. My brother and I where driving last night around 8:00 p.m. and we saw a green flashing light descending from the sky very fast and then it was gone. 

We where at the intersection of Grand and Martin Luther King Dr. Just wanted to let you know. 

It was kind of weird.  I'm sure it wasn't a helicopter because of how fast it was going and it didn't look very large.

3 Orange Colored Lights Seen Over Chicago Illinois

Date:  October 20, 2012 or October 21, 2012
Time:  Approx: 7:00 p.m.

I saw 3 slow moving orange lights above Chicago last weekend, either on 10/20 or 10/21. (I can double check which day tomorrow). I live in St. Charles and saw them when I looked directly east. It was maybe 7:00 p.m. or so?

The 3 lights seemed to be flying east, toward Lake Michigan. They were going in a consistently straight line. They seemed to be flying very high in the atmosphere. I see airline jets all the time and they fly much lower to the ground.

These orange lights were not blinking. I saw them as I pulled in my driveway and I asked my wife to step outside to see them. She confirmed that she saw them too. They eventually faded one by one as they flew east.

Strange Orange Balls Of Light In Formation Over Chicago Illinois

Time:  Approx: 8:45 p.m.

Around 8:45 p.m. tonight, my boyfriend and I were traveling east on I-290 when we noticed a strange light formation in the sky.

There were about a dozen or so orange balls of light that just seemed to be hovering, or moving very slowly.

When I first noticed them out of the corner of my eye they were all very bright. They stayed visible for a few minutes until they just faded out. I have a video clip on my phone, but the light formation didn't show up very well.

What strikes me is some beams of light we caught shooting down at an angle that we didn't see while filming. I've seen meteors before and they definitely weren't that. I can send it if you're interested in viewing.

Bright Orange Or Copper Colored Lights In The Sky Over Downtown Chicago Illinois

Hi, here are my Facebook postings from last night and this morning. Friends kept suggesting I was drinking! I just found your website and wanted to share. Nothing on the news.

I sent an email to a Chicago radio station for breaking news without any reply. My husband said he thought it was more like 10 to 12 of them.

I ran inside at one point to grab my phone.

I was only able to get one clear shot which was only a bright light in the sky. They were copper or orange and very bright.

This first posting was at about 9:20 p.m. CST on Saturday, October 13th.

I remembered feeling sort of scared when I realized there were more coming after the initial three.

We could see them coming through the leaves of my front yard trees. They were following the others.

I felt it was sort of an attack of some kind for a moment! 

I really want to find out about this.

3 Unknown Lights Over Oak Park Chicago Illinois

Good morning, last night around 9:20 p.m. I saw something very similar to what you have mentioned. I reside in Oak Park and was out walking my dog. I saw three of these things that seemed to be flying in a formation, and then circled the moon.

A few seconds later it happened again and they disappeared. I was very stunned and awestruck. I could not believe what I had seen. I took out my phone and began to take pictures which aren't very clear, upon sending them as they would be looking at them in person.

I was so shocked at the possibility that I may have seen UFOs, that I Googled similar events and found you. Please feel free to phone me as I feel I could give a better account of occurrence verbally. Thank you for your time.

Planet Sized UFO Vanishes Before The Witnesses Eyes Seen From Suburbs Of Chicago Illinois

Date:  Mid August 2012
Time:  Evening.

 I live out in the far SW suburbs of Chicago. On two separate nights, I saw two different sightings in the eastern sky. The first night (sorry, I did not record dates or times) I saw what appeared to be a planet.

They are much brighter than stars in the night sky, and often they appear to "twinkle". I was very surprised, as I often sit out on the deck late at night with my puppy, after the daytime heat dissipates.

I was watching the "planet" when it suddenly just "disappeared." It did not move in any direction, it just disappeared from sight, and it was a completely cloudless night.
    
The second sighting was a few nights later, when in the same area facing east, I noticed a red/orange flashing object which appeared like an elongated loop.

It made no sound or motion, but after watching for a few minutes, I noticed an identical shape and color beneath it, like it was "attached" to the bottom of the first object and suspended from it, and "hanging" perpendicular.

After having seen the "planet" object which disappeared previously, I ran to get a pair of binoculars. Through the binoculars, I could see the red/orange flashing, but it was far too far away to get any clarity.

I took the binoculars away from my eyes, and in the blink of an eye, the object once again just "disappeared", moving in no direction, just vanished. Again, it was a totally cloudless night.
    
Both nights, I waited to see if either object would return, but neither did.

Cylindrical Metallic Object/UFO Over The Adler Planetarium Chicago Illinois

Time:  About 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Saw a cylindrical metallic object over the lake on Sunday August 19th, 2012 at about 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. above the Adler Planetarium, just after the air and water show.

It was moving quite slowly, first descending then heading east-northeast. It moved out of sight in front of the planetarium and we moved to the north side of the building and it was gone, we stood there looking for a good 20-30 minutes, but couldn't see it again.

No one around us seemed to have noticed it.

Orange Balls Of Light Over Chicago Illinois

Time:  8:00 p.m.

Visual from RT 30 and 135th St. Plainfield, IL USA, looking east.

Saw orange ball in sky over Chicago, 09/22/2012 @2000 hrs. going from NW to SE, straight line going very fast.

The ball was flickering orange and silent and could have been one to three miles from me at possible aircraft altitude.

Second ball two-three minutes later heading same course, like it was following the first.

Third ball two - three minutes after the second same speed and again heading SE passing just south of southern part of Lake Michigan into NE Indiana and disappearing due to distance.

The speed was the same, (very fast) and they did not deviate course.

Orange Light In The Sky Over Chicago Illinois

Date:  August 19, 2012
Time:  9:30 p.m.

I saw one in the west sky moved on an angle getting bigger and looked to turn north then shot up thru the cloud cover.

Additional Information:
I was in Chicago on Diversey and Ashland looking west in the sky and it was 9:30 p.m. it looked like an orange star in the sky, but I didn't know any orange stars. As I watched, it became larger moving on a downward angle like this \ and eventually appeared to have turned north and then just shot up through the cloud cover.

It was still the size of a big star that you would see in the sky on a clear night. I have one witness and another man was there and asked what it was. There was a plane in the air and I said its not a plane or a helicopter. 

All that we could make out was the orange, amber light no body, no wings or tail. Glad I saw it with my own eyes and I wasn't the only one. Thank you for following up. If you have other questions please ask.

Orange Fireball Seen Flying Over Northside Chicago Illinois

Time:  Between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

On Saturday, August 11, 2012 my family and I were out in the backyard of our Chicago home (north side). Sometime between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. at night we saw an orange "fireball" appear in the west sky.

It seemed to head toward us (east) as it was getting larger, but then it moved away from us and slowly headed toward the tree tops until it was just a small white dot in the sky. My husband, brother in law, mother in law, mother and uncle all saw this in addition to myself.

We live close to O'Hare and I have seen airplanes over this house my entire life and this was no airplane. The strangest thing was how it moved, sort of changed directions and even appeared to stop and stay still for a few moments.

I was Googling to try and see if there was a news report of this or anything and came across this website. We have hypothesized that this may be space junk re-entering the atmosphere and with each layer it appears to "change directions."

There were also thoughts of it being a lost hot air balloon, however I believe the fireball moved too quickly and was too high to be a hot air balloon. We also thought perhaps it was a meteor, but then were confused my the patterns of movement.

We filmed it on our phone, however the footage is not that great. It is amazing to me that there is nothing on the web about this as I would imagine some of the local TV weather cameras would have caught it or someone at O'Hare. We are simply interested in a reasonable explanation.

200 To 300 People Witness Bright Orange Cluster Of Lights Over Ravenswood Chicago

We were at a park in Ravenswood and saw the entire spectacle along with about 2-300 other people watching a movie. Looked like firefly’s or a firework in reverse.
I thought some of the objects were going to crash into each other towards the end of the viewing by how close they were flying,  figured it was military, but it was as if they took off from near downtown.

I did not notice them in the Western horizon at all once they passed my view in the south.

They appeared to have went up skyward. 

Can you share anymore responses you have been getting on this since posting,  I figure the Tribune was going to post something about a Air force or Navy exercise, but only found your blog on this regarding Chicago. 

Seems there alot of reports coming in regarding amber/orange lights being seen that night around country.

30 To 40 Bright Orange Lights Flying Over Chicago Illinois

Time:  8:55 p.m.

My Mom was in the yard and started to yell to me. I was in the basement.

I thought someone was robbing the backyard. I ran out, and she said look up and I saw 30-40 bright orange lights hovering in a circular formation moving slowly from the north to southwest.

It must have lasted near 4 minutes. I ran in after 10 seconds thinking this must be a UFOs sighting. I never seen anything like this! I ran in to find camera to no avail. These light reminded me of a group of orange fireflies, but were very bright and circular moving.

I have no idea, but the meteor shower was tonight said the news and all air traffic in Chicago was closed said the news over Chicago because President was visiting his home this weekend in Chicago.

Also I did not hear any sound emanating from the cluster of orange lights nor did my Mother.
                 
Someone in southwest suburb on the computer also says they seen a similar cluster of flying orange lights. Anyone else? I never seen anything like this.

Orange/Red Object Filmed Over Lombar Chicago Illinois (Picture)

Time:  Approx; 11:00 p.m.

Around 11:00 p.m. today when my mom and I were in front of my house when she called me over to look at these objects in the sky. At first were or 2 or 3. After a minute or so there was a total of 5.

They were in close proximity to each other and then two floated away. One of the objects stayed above the remaining 2 while the bottom two move up and down opposite opposite of each other and drifted towards each other and then drifted apart again. 

It was if they were doing maneuvers or dancing if you wish. I first thought they look like flares, but then they started moving in different directions away from their original positions. I live in Lombard  they were coming from the north.

I had binoculars  with me and when I used them they almost looked like floating flames. Their bottoms were bright orange and you look towards the top the color got dimmer and almost looked like flames.
