March 27, 2012 at 5:15 a.m. I saw the same thing. There were four of them. We watched them fall and watched the smoke spread apart and then before it dissipated.
The smoke made U shapes.

I saw this very same phenomena with three shipmates. Our vantage point was no more than 10 miles south of the person posting.
