Kokomo, Indiana Five Lights - Orange/Amber In Color

Posted: February 3, 2008

Date: Last Fall 2007.
Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: west of Kokomo, In.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 3 in one group and 4-5 in another.
Shape of objects: Round.

Full Description of event/sighting: Looking west at about 45 degrees I watched a light grow brighter (I first thought it might be an iridium flare). But then another light appeared in a straight line (west to east) from the first and then a third appeared. A few seconds later another set of 5 lights appeared one at a time from north to south in the wnw sky just to the North of the firsts lights. They grew bright and then dimmed and disappeared within about 30 seconds. The lights were a yellow-orange color. I am reporting this now because I read about a sightings in Kokomo in the past few years that appeared similar to mine last fall. I think it might be flares from planes. They would have to have been two planes. Why would then be ejecting flares at right angles to each other over a populated area ?

Thank you to the witness for the report.
