Date: July 7, 2007 Time: Approx: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Approx 10 miles off shore North West of St Petersburg, FL (Gulf of Mexico).
Approach Direction: Southwest. Departure Direction: Northeast. Witness Direction: East.
Description: Heading off coast on a fishing boat near sun down when behind us, the flying object caught the attention of someone on the boat. Clear summer evening several miles off shore. So distance referencing was difficult with zero landmarks, but a guess for distance might be half a mile away, maybe further. Boat was in motion; with light water chop, so one moment it appeared stationary; the next it was gone. Altitude from sea level may have been a couple hundred feet.
Color/Shape: White, tube shaped, bus length.
Height & Speed: 200 feet above sea level. 20 knots (our speed).
