Round Red/Orange Ball Of Light Over Newport Beach California

Date: January 24, 2011
Time: Approx: 10:30 p.m.

I was on the phone with a friend last night, about 10:30pm, and saw a round ball of light, like flame, but, well, round, directly overhead. Moving slowly north, then turned, perfect L, to the east, then back south. Then it sort of guttered out to be rather ember-like, and drifted back north, picking up speed until it went out of sight.

Never shot off at high speed. Plenty of planes were headed over it. No idea and no explanation.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

I believe we saw the same exact thing this evening over Corona del Mar. They looked like fireballs and moved differently than planes. Too fast to be balloons or blimps. There were 4 of them traveling at different flight paths and at several minutes apart. The sighting lasted about 15 minutes. Almost a year to the day from your sighting

Last night at 10 pm I saw 3 Orange lights hovering over Newport beach a police helicopter was circling them. The three Orange lights just turned of, and the helicopter flew away.
