I saw the exact same thing with a group of my friends in Wilmington, New York 8-21-2012 at 9:30 p.m. There was only one, but it seemed very large compared to all the other stars out.
It was very bright like a burning orange. We watched it or at least a full minute before it just disappeared . We have all never seen anything like this before.
